KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI: Jo Koy did his first stand-up performance after his unforgettable experience at the 81st Golden Globes as a host.

The Tacoma native was in Kansas City for his ‘Joy Koy World Tour’ despite icy weather. With his delayed entry due to difficult weather, the frequent announcement was made in a local Stifel Theatre, “Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for your

patience. We are dealing with some inclement weather. The artist will be arriving shortly.”

Before, the comedian-actor finally showed up on stage, “Holy shit, right? This big hug that you gave me is all I need, swear to god. Fucking whirlwind, goddamn,” Koy began.

Referring to his recent fallout at the movie award show, the 52-year-old said, “Lot a marshmallows, man. They’re delicious, but goddamn, they’re soft. I just come from a different time. I see the changes that are happening. I get it, but goddamn, can we f*****g laugh at ourselves?” The audience roared with applause, and from the audience yelled, “F**k ‘em!”

“I got a feeling none of you m***********s watched it, and I’m kinda happy. Oh my god. It feels good to live in this country. We get to say what we want to say. Don’t be apologetic about it at all. Be able to…speak your mind.”

Koy joked, “The weather is better in Hollywood, but I’m happy to be in this blizzard. When it rains, it pours,” reports Variety.

Touching on subjects like weather, cell phones, military, and getting older, Koy said, “Here in St. Louis, [you’ve got] people that listen to you, understand you, and understand we’re not all out to attack each other. It’s stupid in LA.”

Koy’s new special will be out on Netflix this year. The 'Joy Koy World Tour' continues before ending on May 26, 2024, in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
