LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Conservative political commentator Candace Owens in a post on social media platform X on Tuesday, December 24, insisted that actor-director Justin Baldoni should have the opportunity to represent himself in a court of law before his awards get taken away from him.

Owens shared her take in response to a post by Pop Crave that claimed Baldoni had been stripped of his Voice of Solidarity Award for his involvement in legal troubles with Blake Lively.

The pair had worked together in the 2024 romantic drama 'It Ends With Us' which released in August. Speculations had grown of rift between the stars for months, leading to Blake filing a lawsuit against Baldoni with the California Civil Rights Department on December 21.

Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment in her lawsuit as well as creating a hostile workplace environment and attempting to tarnish her reputation.

Candace Owens' tweet on Justin Baldoni being stripped of his awards

Justin Baldoni was presented with the Voice of Solidarity award on December 9, 2024, by Vital Voices Global Partnership, an international nonprofit that works towards women empowerment.

On December 23, the organization released a statement stating that they have been made aware of the lawsuit against Baldoni and his team and that the "disturbing" and "abhorrent conduct" that Baldoni was accused of stood "contrary to the values of Vital Voices and the spirit of the Award."

"We have notified Mr Baldoni that we have rescinded this award," the statement read.

Retweeting the announcement, Owens wrote, "Hear me out... What if rather than believing women or men we waited for more facts and allowed Justin Baldoni to have his day in court before stripping him of awards?"

Internet backs Candace Owens' demand of giving Justin Baldoni a chance to defend himself

Internet users were quick to extend their support to Candace Owens after she demanded that Justin Baldoni should be given a chance to defend himself before being stripped of his awards.

"Apparently innocent until proven guilty is a thing of the past in America," wrote a user.

"Agreed. He may be guilty, but he may also be innocent and I’m sickened that accusations are deemed factual before the presumption of innocence," shared another.

"The judgment of social media has already been decided he is guilty of all wrongdoing," quipped a third.

"Absolutely. There is more to this story," noted a fourth.

"In this day and age with people having literally zero patience I doubt anyone wants to wait, they just want to point a finger immediately," expressed a fifth.
