Candace Owens draws flak as she's labeled 'Antisemite of the Year' by StopAntisemitism: 'She’s twisted'

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Candace Owens was labeled "Antisemite of the Year" by watchdog StopAntisemitism, which said she "blew the competition away" with more votes than anyone in earlier years.

Notably, StopAntisemitism gave the title in 2023 to Rep Rashida Tlaib. Other prominent recipients include Kanye West, in 2022, and Rep Ilhan Omar in 2019, according to the New York Post. 

Candace Owens dubbed 'Antisemite of the Year'

StopAntisemitism founder Liora Rez told the outlet, "Candace Owens’ witch’s brew of antisemitism drew from vile medieval blood libels, including claims that Jews drink Christian blood, conspiracies that Jews are pedophiles who control the media and are ‘taking over America,’ and modern toxic anti-Israel hysteria."

Rez added, "There is no psychotic rabbit hole too extreme for this poisonous hater."

Moreover, the watchdog shared a video of comments from Owens, including her defending Kanye's antisemitic rant and also her attacking Israel, which she claimed had “occupied” the US, in the wake of the October 7, 2023, massacre, per the outlet.

Rez said, "This dishonor is awarded to the individual who has done the most to endanger the Jewish community, and in 2024, Candace Owens has tragically and decisively earned the title."

The founder added, "Out of dozens of contenders, she blew the competition away with her relentless campaign of dangerous rhetoric targeting the Jewish community, earning more votes than any Antisemite of the Year we’ve ever named."

Candace Owens reacts to being crowned 'Antisemite of the Year'

Candace Owens took to X (formerly Twitter) to address her "Antisemite of the Year" title, which was awarded to her by watchdog StopAntisemitism.

She wrote, "The ratio under this post is incredible lol. Zionists are completely out of touch. Reminiscent of BLM in 2020 running around calling everything and everyone racist. From excruciatingly annoying, to mildly entertaining to utterly obsolete. We are all fatigued with 'antisemitism'."

Owens wrote in another post, "Truly, I didn’t think anyone could top the petulance of Patrisse Cullors in 2020 but I have to hand it to the Zionist lobby this year… BLM walked so you guys could run."

She later added in another post, "Obviously I will prepare an acceptance speech for my show tomorrow. So many people to thank."

Owens parted ways with the Daily Wire in March 2024 amid public friction with its co-founder and star podcaster Ben Shapiro.

Several internet users trolled Candace Owens after she was labeled "Antisemite of the Year" by StopAntisemitism.

A social media user wrote on X, "I stopped listening to her on any matter after her antisemitic rant. It made me realize she’s a twisted sister," while another added, "She is. she needs to just go away."

One person stated, "Congrats to her. A prestigious award from an account that might as well put a clown face in their bio as that is how serious everyone takes them," while another wrote, "She is 100% worthy of this award."

One person said, "She will wear that as a badge of honor, I'm positive. In fact she'll probably make a whole episode about it," while another commented, "She is complete trash. I'm embarrassed I used to like her. But she does know how to grift."
