Candace Owens says Trump called her and urged her to stop calling Emmanuel Macron's wife Brigitte ‘a man'
WASHINGTON, DC: Far-right commentator Candace Owens revealed that she received a phone call from President Donald Trump earlier this year, during which he pleaded with her not to promote the conspiracy theory that French President Emmanuel Macron’s wife, Brigitte Macron, 'was a man'.
Speaking on her YouTube show, Owens said, “Anyway, this phone call is coming from Florida. I pick up the phone, and lo and behold, you know, here’s what happened, I’m negotiating this thing, Ukraine and Russia, and you wouldn’t believe how many parts of, it is President Donald J Trump!”

“He is calling me and, in true President Trump fashion, he jumps right into the narrative,” Owens said on her show. “He’s not like, ‘Hey, how are you?’ He just jumps right into exactly how this went down.”
The 36-year-old added that she was stunned by the moment: “Four days ago I was literally ending a series about Brigitte Macron, and now I’m speaking to the President of the United States, and the topic of conversation is Macron’s wife’s penis.”
Owens also claimed that she received a letter from Macron and the first lady regarding potential legal action against her. During her show, she said Trump tried to persuade her by insisting he had seen Brigitte “up close” and believed she “looked like a woman.”

Despite President Trump’s request, Candace Owens said she refused to back down from her claim about French first lady Brigitte Macron.
“I explained to him why I didn’t feel great about his request,” Owens said on her show. “Because that’s the more important part, like you are requesting that I really, and despite your reasoning, which is very sound, that I stop telling the truth."
Owens added, “I said to Trump, and I’ll be honest, at that moment, I realized this would end up in my autobiography, so I wanted to say something funny. I said, ‘Respectfully, Mr President, it’s not my fault that he married someone with a penis.'”

She further revealed that Donald Trump attempted to persuade her by offering praise.
He reportedly told her, “Melania loves you, she says you’re beautiful.”
He also offered to appear as a guest on her podcast, adding that he was “great for ratings.”
“So I gave him the Trump right back,” Owens said. “I told him, ‘Respectfully Mr President, I’m apparently good for ratings too, because you’ve got a leader of a country, the president of the country, asking you to ask me to do you a favor.’ Then we end the conversation and I am just reeling.”
