'Next year is gonna be all about me': Cardi B seen in public for the first time after unfollowing Offset
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Cardi B, the renowned rapper and Grammy winner, was recently spotted on Los Angeles' Melrose Avenue, marking her first public appearance since her social media activity sparked speculation about the status of her relationship with husband Offset.
The couple, both 31, had unfollowed each other on social media, prompting rumors of a potential split.
Cardi B's stunning comeback
During her shopping excursion, Cardi B showcased a fashion-forward look, donning an oversized top with two different plaid patterns, featuring shades of brown and blue/red.
Footage obtained by Daily Mail showcased the rapper pairing the top with extremely short denim shorts and over-the-knee, acid-washed denim boots that reached the hem of her shorts. Completing her look, she carried a caramel-colored Hermes handbag and sported a sleek bob hairstyle.
The couple unfollowed each other on social media, sparking speculation of an impending split.
Dropping 'Dead Weight' after unfollowing Offset
Cardi B made a not-so-cryptic comment during an Instagram Live session, sharing her outlook for the coming year. She emphasized the need to eliminate 'dead weight' in various aspects of her life, including career, finances, and personal matters. She mentioned aspects such as mentality, procrastination, laziness, and people as potential sources of dead weight, declaring that the next year would be focused on herself.
During her IG Live show, Cardi told her followers to change their lives now since that's exactly what she's doing.
Cardi said, "You gotta rid of dead weight, and when it comes to dead weight ... I'll say mentality, procrastination, laziness and people. A lot of people are dead weight, too."
She added, "Next year is gonna be all about me."
Offset and Cardi unfollowed each other on their respective IG platforms one day after Cardi's blunt statements. It's obvious there's trouble in paradise between the hip hop couple, but it's unclear what the problem is.
Clearly, the singer alluded to marital troubles in her Monday post: "You know when you just outgrow relationships." Cardi also said.
"I'm tired of protecting people's feelings...I've GOT TO PUT MYSELF FIRST," she said.
