Celine Dion's Instagram post featured herself with sons Rene-Charles, 23, and twins Nelson and Eddy, 14, all dressed in matching cream outfits in a warm Christmas setting at their Las Vegas home.
In her heartfelt caption, Dion wrote, “Rene, we can’t believe you’ve been gone nine years already. Not a day goes by that we don’t feel your presence."
“RC, Eddy, Nelson, and I honor you, mon amour. You were my greatest champion, my partner, and the one who always saw the best in me. We love you and miss you forever,” she shared.
Angelil, who managed Dion’s career and played a pivotal role in her rise to stardom, died in January 2016 after a lengthy battle with throat cancer.
Celine Dion and Rene Angelil's bond began with music
Celine Dion’s relationship with Rene Angelil began in 1980 when, as a 12-year-old aspiring singer, she auditioned for him.
Angelil, impressed by her talent, mortgaged his home to fund her first album.
Their relationship turned romantic by 1987, and the couple got married in 1994.
Angelil guided Dion through her illustrious career, helping her achieve global stardom.
Their oldest son, Rene-Charles, captured the nation’s hearts at just 14 when he delivered an emotional eulogy at his father’s funeral, praising Angelil as a devoted father and mentor.
Celine Dion navigates life with stiff-person syndrome
Celine Dion’s touching tribute comes as she faces significant personal challenges.
In December 2022, she revealed her diagnosis of stiff-person syndrome (SPS), a rare and debilitating neurological condition that causes muscle stiffness, chronic pain, and impaired mobility, according to Daily Mail.
The condition has forced Dion to put her career on hold as it affects her ability to sing and perform.
“I haven’t beaten the disease,” Dion admitted in a candid interview with Vogue France.
“It’s still within me and always will be. But I’m learning to live with it,” she added.
She undergoes intensive therapy five days a week, focusing on physical, vocal, and emotional recovery.

Despite the hardships, Dion remains grateful for her strong support system, including her children and fans.
“People who suffer from SPS may not have the means for proper treatment,” she said.
“I’m fortunate to have access to excellent care, but above all, I draw strength from the love of my family and the unwavering support of my fans,” Dion shared.
