LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: Celine Dion is reportedly ready to take the next step in her life after being pushed by her friends and sons to end to her nearly a decade-long singlehood.

The 'Queen of Power Ballads' will start dating after being single for eight years since her husband, Rene Angelil, passed away in 2016, reported Life & Style Magazine. Insiders revealed that Dion was finally ready to give dating a chance and agreed to allow her friends to set her up.

The 'My Heart Will Go On' singer was married to Canadian musical producer Angelil from 1994 until his death in 2016.

Celine Dion's sons want her to 'live for the future'

"She’s not actively looking for dates, but she’s agreed to let her friends set her up, and everyone in her life is excited," an insider source revealed to Life & Style Magazine.

Celine Dion made her return to the stage at the 2024 Paris Olympics, performing at the opening ceremony for the first time in four years since getting treated for stiff-person syndrome, a neurological condition.

The recent reports signalled that she would soon revive her romantic life as well.

Her three sons, Rene-Charles Angelil, 23, and 13-year-old fraternal twins Eddy and Nelson, will soon be stepping into an independent life.

"It won’t be long before they’re ready to fly the nest," the insider claimed, referring to Dion's sons. "They’ve made it clear they want to see Celine move forward and live for the future."

According to the source, the 'Because You Loved Me' singer's decision to give another chance to love "is a huge step for her". "She has so much love to give."

Her documentary titled 'I Am: Celine Dion' premiered in June, offering an "honest behind-the-scenes" peek into her battle with stiff-person syndrome.

Celine Dion's eternal love for Rene Angelil

Celine Dion's relationship with Rene Angelil goes way back to her teenage days.

Though they started dating when she was 19, she had known him since 1980, when she met him at 12 years old, as per People.

Angelil became Dion's manager, and the couple tied the knot in 1994 when the singer was only 22 years old. At the time, he was 52.

The couple welcomed their first son in 2001 and the twins in 2010.

Angelil stepped down from his decades-long role as Dion's manager when he was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014.

They were married for 22 years until he finally succumbed to cancer in 2016.

"I'm still married to Rene. He’s still my husband. When we have to travel to my treatments to see my doctors, I always bring pictures [of him]," the singer told People in June.

"And we have pictures, of course, all over the place in the house."
