WASHINGTON, DC: Charlamagne tha God stated that the media should not concentrate on the racist remarks made by former president Donald Trump regarding Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris. He described them as a diversion from more urgent discussions concerning significant matters.

“I don’t give a damn about any of this, and neither should you. Like, nobody in the media should care,” he told CNN anchor Erin Burnett.

Donald Trump doesn’t have any new tricks. He focuses on identity. He focuses on race. He focuses on gender. He makes white America think that the changing demographics of this country are affecting their livelihood.”

Charlamagne tha God thinks Donald Trump deserves no credit for appearing at NABJ event

In addition, Charlamagne that God argued that Donald Trump should get "no credit" for going to the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) for the interview, as suggested by Trump and his allies.

The radio personality previously stated that he would support Harris as the Democratic nominee.

Donald Trump faced heavy criticism this week for NABJ interview

Donald Trump came under fire this week for making the incorrect implication during a live interview at the NABJ on Wednesday, July 31, that Harris had only decided to identify as Black since she began her campaign for office.

“I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago, when she happened to turn Black. And now she wants to be known as Black,” Trump told the NABJ crowd. “I don’t know, is she Indian or is she Black?”

Kamala Harris is the first female vice president of USA

Kamala Harris is not only the first Black woman vice president but also the first Indian American woman vice president. She was a student at historically Black Howard University and has openly discussed her Black and Indian ancestry.

In recent days, Trump has stepped up his criticism of Harris, including images of Harris in a sari and videos from 2020 showing Harris preparing Indian food with Mindy Kaling.

Charlamagne tha God says media shouldn't focus on Donald Trump's attacks

Charlamagne that God disagreed that Donald Trump's attacks should be the main topic of discussion in the media.

“The media should focus on whatever candidate is talking about the issues,” he said per The Hill. “Anything else is not worth the air time. How many times is Donald Trump gonna run the same trick over and over and over, and we continue to fall for it and be distracted.”

“We all know Kamala Harris is Black and we all know she’s Indian, and we also know Donald Trump is a bigot and we know he’s divisive,” Charlamagne added. “I don’t need the media running Donald Trump’s greatest hits over and over for the next 95 days.”

He added that Harris needs to “stay on message” and not “get distracted” by conversations about “who’s Black.” Instead, he said she should focus on explaining how she is going to “put money back in people’s pockets” and keep them safe.

Burnett also questioned him over a Black guy who had called his program to discuss Harris' failure to assert her Black identity. Charlamagne said he would tell the caller that "he's bugging."

Internet berates Charlamagne tha God for slamming Donald Trump

Netizens were seemingly disappointed with Charlamagne tha God's advice to the media following Donald Trump's continuous racist attacks on Kamala Harris.

One X user tweeted, "Charlamagna the what? Did he get that name out of a box of Cracker Jacks?" Another added, "Racists can’t explain the racism."

"Obviously. He didn’t give a damn when Joe Biden told him if he ain’t voting for him he ain’t black," remarked one and someone else commented, "No one really cares what his racist has to say! All Charlemagne does is say everything is racist!"
