The actress jokingly referred to him as a book author who is married to her friend.

Kaling took to Instagram on April 11 to post a picture of herself smiling alongside the Duke of Sussex while she took a playful jab at his 2023 memoir 'Spare', which stirred controversy upon its release.

“Met my friend’s husband at a work event. Seemed pretty cool. Said he wrote a book. Gonna go check it out!” she captioned the picture.

On Wednesday, April 10, 'The Office' star who is friends with Meghan Markle met Prince Harry at a BetterUp summit held in San Francisco, according to Daily Mail.

Kaling and the renegade royal who were both speakers at the event are the chief impact officer for the tech organization.

'The Mindy Project' star also shared pictures from backstage which included a snap from her dressing room captured before the discussion.

Kaling hosted a conversation titled "Leading with Laughter," along with author Adam Grant at the event where they opened up about their parenting approaches.

The 44-year-old actress who has two children, daughter Katherine, six, and son Spencer, three, said "Gentle parenting I am rethinking."

"It’s this thing lots of LA and New York and certain progressive cities do, and sometimes you just have to scream at your kids … so I am rethinking it!” Kaling joked.

In 2022, she made an appearance on Markle's now-defunct podcast 'Archetypes' and candidly spoke about the societal expectations of a woman being single in her 40s.
