Chennedy Carter slams Caitlin Clark on social media
After the game, Carter deflected reporters' questions about why she shoved Clark, but she later chastised the Indiana Fever Guard on social media platform Threads.
Carter retaliated against a user who had posted a video of her post-game news conference and captioned it, "Kudos to all of this women they have really made WNBA interesting."
"[And] that’s that on that cause beside three point shooting what does [Clark] bring to the table man," Carter retorted.
Furthermore, Carter hinted at her conflict with Clark on her personal Instagram account, stating, "I grew up with all brothers. All we did is fight and argue. I love the hate more than the love what don't yall understand. I'd rather you hate me [than] love me and I mean that on my dead aunt."
Despite coughing up 5.6 turnovers each game, Clark is averaging 16.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 6.5 assists, per Daily Mail.

Following Carter's criticism of Clark, several Threads users flocked to the comment section to school the Chicago Sky guard as one user said, "How many points did you lose that game by and how many free throws did CC get from your cheap shot?"
The user added, "Like, you couldn't handle the chirping and lost it and gave her a cheap shot. Clark played you so easily, sitting in your head rent-free."
Another user remarked in part of their comment, "I’ll bite and give you the attention you so desperately desire: the fact that you’re still running your mouth (or fingers, actually — you were too scared to speak on it at the presser) is embarrassing."
"Lol apparently she brings a lot more to the table than you do, man😂🤡. Bro you come off the bench for a team with a losing record," chimed in another.
Someone else added, "You're basically saying "I'm not taking accountability for my actions and dirty move!" Shocker! Be a pro and take accountability! That goes for anyone playing a pro sport."
"The only reason people know who you are is because you played against her yesterday but talk your s**t I guess lmao," exclaimed another.

Clark addressed the ESPN broadcast after the game by saying, "That's just not a basketball play but I've got to play through it, that's what basketball is about at this level."
Carter, meanwhile, stated following the match, "I ain't answering no Caitlin Clark questions. I don't know what she said. I didn't say anything."
