CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: Chicago Sky guard Chennedy Carter is back in the news after she scored a foul against Caitlyn Clark. However, this is not the first time that Carter has committed unsporting behavior.

Chennedy Carter has a dubious past history

During Saturday’s match between Carter’s Chicago Sky and Clark’s Indiana Fever, the off-court skirmish between the sportspersons occurred when the foul occurred in the tight third quarter.

Clark and Carter were guarding each other before Clark delivered an elbow leading to a score. After she did some trash talk, Carter bagged a bucket of her own.

However, after leveling the score, Carter delivered a hip check on the WNBA phenom and sent her to the ground amid confusion and shock, per Daily Mail

This is, nevertheless, not the first time Carter’s misdemeanors off the court has drawn attention. Carter’s foul against Clark also highlighted ‘Hollywood’s - a name with which the Chicago Sky star calls herself - lowest salary.

After four years in the WNBA, Carter is making the lowest among her peers at Chicago Sky as she is drawing a salary of $64,154, as per Spotrac.

The former fourth-overall pick was previously cut from teams because of her behavior including a time when she threatened to fight a teammate.

Before playing for Texas A&M at the college level, Carter received the promising McDonald's All-American - an honor given to a promising college-bound player.

After playing for her college, she entered the WNBA Draft in 2020 and was selected by Atlanta Dream as the fourth overall pick in her draft class.

While she had a spectacular rookie season, troubles arose in her second year. In July 2021, Carter faced suspension for “conduct detrimental to the team”.

It was reported that she got involved in an argument with Courtney Williams - another player on Dream, who asked Carter to “improve her attitude” during a game.

Allegedly, Carter went to Williams after the game and told her she wanted to fight. But as she denied the request, Carter backed away and left Dream soon after.

She joined Los Angeles Sparks in 2022, where she played for only 24 games with an average of 16 minutes per match.

When she was released in March 2023, it was revealed that Carter was benched predominantly because of her “poor conduct.”

Following her release from Los Angeles Sparks, she played a season abroad in Turkiye. Later, she joined Chicago Spot and earned a roster spot.

However, her position in Sky also got highlighted when she got involved in an off-court squabble with Caitlin Clark.

Chennedy Carter slammed by internet for her rude behavior

Internet is not impressed with Carter's past behavior as they criticized the athlete's alleged ruggedness.

One of the netizens remarked, "If I knew that she had that kind of reputation around the league and I were a coach, she wouldn't be on the court. An attitude adjustment is seriously needed."

Someone else said, "Sadly, future generations look up to ball players. This is NOT someone I would not want anyone to look up to. These “children” should be benched, for good. If she came to my city, our wins would be darkened by her behavior and how she gets results, not good."

"Obviously she feels she is not as good as many of her fellow players so she resorts to this kind of behavior to make a name for herself and receive some recognition," observed someone else.

Another sports fan said, "Don't matter how good you are .. she shouldn't be allowed to play.. no one like that should. Sports Teams are bigger than just the Players.. they represent the Cities they come from. Fire her find another who is better."

"Playing Ball For A Living Is A GIFT only a few get. To play a kids game and get paid enormous amounts? ... She isn't worthy of that honor.. many others aren't either," added amother.

Someone else shared, "If this person cannot control her aggressive behavior, then she shouldn't be on the court."

"Appears she has self control issues. If she refuses to control herself she'll always be a liability to any team she's on," declared someone mournfully.
