LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Chris Hughes has finally opened up about his whirlwind romance with JoJo Siwa, marking the first time he's spoken in detail about how their bond turned romantic.

The 32-year-old 'Love Island' alum formed a close connection with the 22-year-old singer and dancer during their time on 'Celebrity Big Brother', and now says their relationship has become deeply serious.

Chris Hughes shared that their friendship shifted during a trip to Mexico City, where he surprised JoJo Siwa after missing her deeply.

“We were just friends at that stage, but we were talking all the time. I was missing her, and I felt like I needed to see her,” Hughes said in an interview with The Sun.

He said their time together made him realize how happy he felt being around her. “It was at that moment something fully ignited inside me,” he added.

After the two admitted their feelings, the romantic spark became undeniable.

“Our first kiss was genuinely special—it felt like I was in a movie. I can’t keep my hands off her now!” Hughes confessed.

When asked if they’ve exchanged the “L” word, Chris Hughes admitted she is the first person he talks to when he wakes up and the last before he goes to sleep.

“She’s the last person I speak to at night and the first I speak to when I wake up. I can’t explain it, but it’s a safe love. It’s like a natural high," Hughes said.

Chris added that he’s thought about marrying JoJo Siwa, and dismissed any claims that their relationship is for attention.

“I’d love to marry her,” Hughes said. “I’d be lying if I didn’t tell you I run through scenarios of our wedding day … We’d have a proper English wedding and I can imagine her in a full wedding dress.”

“I don’t care. I wouldn’t go to the effort of loving someone for any other reason than it being real,” he stated.

Talking about facing backlash about their relationship, Chris Hughes said he’s become mentally stronger.

“But it doesn’t bother me—as long as people aren’t nasty, opinions are fine. I may be feminine in the way I do things, but I wouldn’t change the way I am for anything," he added.

Chris also addressed questions about Siwa’s sexuality, saying, “Love is love."

Hughes noted that JoJo now identifies more with the label “queer” and remains part of the LGBTQ+ community.

“Sexuality can be fluid, and you should be able to love who you want without judgment,” added Hughes.
