JoJo Siwa says she's 'absolutely head over heels' for Chris Hughes as she confirms relationship

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: JoJo Siwa has opened up about her time on 'Celebrity Big Brother UK', describing her experience as dramatic yet transformative, during an interview with The Guardian, published on Monday, June 2.
The 22-year-old pop star has also revealed her relationship with fellow housemate Chris Hughes is no longer just a friendship.

On her bond with Chris Hughes, JoJo Siwa shared, "It’s not platonic anymore, and it’s been a beautiful development, a beautiful connection, and I’m absolutely head over heels for him and he’s the same way."

She described the show as a life-changing experience. “By a landslide, it is the best thing that’s ever happened to me,” Siwa said.
At the beginning of the show, Siwa identified as a lesbian and was in a relationship with Australian actor Kath Ebbs, who identifies as non-binary.
However, after the show wrapped, Siwa and Ebbs announced their breakup.

Siwa and Hughes grew closer during the series, with the 'Love Island' alum defending the 22-year-old against negative remarks from actor Mickey Rourke.
Their bond sparked fan speculation, and though Siwa initially denied romantic involvement, she has now confirmed it.
“You can’t help who you love,” Siwa said, describing their relationship as natural.

JoJo Siwa’s clash with Mickey Rourke during the show deeply affected her, but she stayed strong.
“As it was happening, I just froze,” Siwa recalled. Despite the confrontation, she refused to let it ruin her experience. “Some rat doesn’t get to ruin this for me,” she said.
Siwa accused Rourke of homophobic behavior, following which the actor received a formal warning for using "offensive and unacceptable" language toward her, as per the BBC.
She also noted how much happiness her new relationship has brought her.
“Literally yesterday, I was massaging my cheeks; I’ve never [before] been in pain from smiling so much,” Siwa added.

During the interview, JoJo Siwa also shot down rumors that her and Chris Hughes' relationship was a “PR stunt.”
“We’re not faking a thing,” Siwa stated, insisting that her happiness is real and even her family has noticed the change.

“Clearly, you’ve never been around us. I won’t ever speak for him, but for me personally, the happiness in my life just radiates off of me right now,” the 'Dance Moms' alum told The Guardian.
