Chris Martin ‘lost’ and desperate to win Dakota Johnson back as she lives 'best life' with Tom Brady

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Dakota Johnson is spending the summer on a girls’ trip in the Mediterranean, while Chris Martin is back in the US, struggling to win her back.

The 'Fifty Shades of Grey' star has been spotted cruising off the coast of Ibiza with Kate Hudson, Tom Brady, and other friends, leaving little time for reconciliation.

Chris Martin struggles while Dakota Johnson enjoys freedom

With Dakota Johnson having the best time of her life, insiders say Chris Martin has been reaching out repeatedly to her, but she’s focused on enjoying her time away.

"Chris is absolutely lost without her," an insider told RadarOnline. "He didn't realize how much he depended on Dakota until she walked away."

The source added that Martin has been “trying to call her, sending messages, trying to start things back up,” but she is “not really responding the way he'd hoped.”

 The pair had broken up before and reunited, but this time seems different. 

Dakota Johnson focuses on career and friendships after split

While Chris Martin remained at home, Dakota Johnson spent the July 4 weekend celebrating aboard a yacht with Kate Hudson, Tom Brady, and her 'Materialists' co-star Pedro Pascal, along with several other friends.

"She's letting her hair down and cutting loose, and her friends couldn't be happier for her," the source continued. 

Johnson is said to be “enjoying this new solo chapter and focusing on her career and her friendships.”

The insider further claimed, "Chris thought she'd come running back like before, but no. And it's rubbing salt in the wound because she's not staying home or hiding out. She's out there living her best life and being very unapologetic about it."

Martin, the source said, is “heartbroken, barely sleeping, and convinced he made a huge mistake letting her go.”

Chris Martin’s dependent behavior strained his relationship with Dakota Johnson 

In June, it was reported that Johnson and Martin had ended their eight-year, on-and-off relationship.

The two first sparked romance rumors in 2017. Sources previously claimed Martin’s alleged behavior may have contributed to the breakup. One source alleged Johnson “loved” the Coldplay singer but that “he became too dependent on her in the end.” 

They added that if Johnson “went away or wasn’t answering his calls for any length of time,” Martin would “fly off the handle,” even when they were in the same city.

The source also claimed Martin “didn’t approve” of Johnson “going out with friends” and preferred to “stay in all the time instead of enjoying a social life.”
