LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Dakota Johnson is reportedly enjoying a fresh start after finally ending her years-long on-and-off relationship with Chris Martin.

The 'Fifty Shades of Grey' actress, 35, is said to be relieved she no longer has to deal with the Coldplay frontman’s messy personal habits, especially his hygiene issues, after eight years of dating.

Dakota Johnson reportedly struggled with several aspects of their relationship, including Chris Martin’s alleged refusal to bathe regularly.

“Chris is famed for rarely showering and walking around everywhere barefoot,” an insider told RadarOnline.

“Even before he moved to Hollywood, he was the ultimate hippie type who didn't care if he offended anyone by being entirely au naturel," added the source.

The insider claimed that Gwyneth Paltrow, 52, Martin’s ex-wife, tolerated the hygiene habits during their marriage, saying, “She thought it was awesome that Chris was doing his bit for the environment.”

However, the same lifestyle didn't sit well with Johnson. "Dakota is breathing a sigh of relief she no longer has to endure his filthy stench," the tipster noted.

Dakota Johnson allegedly reached her limit after Chris Martin would return from intense workouts and avoid cleaning up.

The actress got sick of the singer’s aversion to proper hygiene habits, "especially when he’d come home drenched in sweat after his heavy workouts and refuse to shower,” as per the source.

While Johnson has not publicly discussed her breakup, insiders claim she is in no rush to find a new partner. She reportedly wants someone “cleaner-cut” when she does start dating again.

Chris Martin, 48, and Dakota Johnson weren’t in harmony over numerous issues, including their 13-year age gap, the constant interference of the singer's ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow, and disagreements over starting their own family, as per the insider. 

Still, hygiene remained the biggest point of contention. “No doubt Chris’ stinky feet and general BO will likely haunt her dreams for a good while to come,” added the source.
