LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Chrissy Teigen has come to Selena Gomez's defense after the White House criticized the singer for her tearful video about the deportations of undocumented migrants.

The White House responded by sharing a video while the singer received harsh criticism for her tearful video from mothers whose children had been raped or killed by illegal migrants.

The caption she added at the bottom was, 'I'm sorry,' and was followed by the Mexican flag. "Apparently it's not ok to show empathy for people," Gomez stated in a subsequent Instagram stories post shortly after removing the video.

Gomez was called "shallow" and "narcissistic" by several social media users in response to the video. The actress, who reportedly has a net worth of $1.3 billion, was criticized by others for not acting herself.

After posting the since-deleted video this week, the actress lost 800K Instagram followers, per Daily Mail.

White House criticizes Selena Gomez for her crying video amid ICE raids

The White House is the latest to criticize the 'Only Murders in the Building' actress for her sobbing video during recent immigration crackdowns.

The Hollywood star's heartfelt clip was responded to by distraught mothers who lost their own children to illegal migrants in the White House video.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt posted a video showing the mothers of a 12-year-old girl and two women were allegedly murdered by convicted undocumented migrants.

The mother of Kathy Hamilton, who was murdered and sexually assaulted by El Salvadorian national Walter Javier Martinez in a Maryland mobile home, Tammy Nobles, told Gomez, "You don't know who you're crying for."

In an article published on Saturday, the New York Times stated that as of February 1, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) had made about 7,400 arrests in nine days.
