Chrissy Teigen blasted for ‘tone deaf’ selfie in front of closet moments before evacuating amid LA fires
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Chrissy Teigen recently shared a selfie to show her state of mind before evacuating her $17.5 million Los Angeles mansion as massive wildfires engulfed parts of Southern California.
The 39-year-old model, who had to evacuate along with her family, took a moment and clicked a selfie in front of her huge closet. She shared the selfie on her Instagram Stories.
However, fans were not empathetic with her “surreal” experience, which she had to undergo because of the evacuation, and rather called her out for her “tone deaf” selfie even in this kind of emergency.

However, just moments before the family had to evacuate, the media personality took a moment to reveal her state of mind amid the predicament.
Taking to her Instagram Stories on late Wednesday, January 8, Teigen wrote in one post, "I haven't had the words, it is a hellscape. We are ok as of right now, and I felt weird saying that with so many people we know and don't know who are not ok..."
After a few hours, she also shared a mirror selfie of her standing in front of her massive wardrobe showcasing her designer clothing as she prepared to pack some essentials.
"This is surreal,” wrote the cookbook author who held her hand over her mouth in shock in the photo. She added, “I'm very scared. Packing."
The photo, meanwhile, did not sit well with netizens who criticized her priorities and urged her to evacuate to safety with her family soon.
Hours later, when Teigen had checked into a hotel, she shared a clip of her family from the hotel room.
She captioned a video of her pets surrounding her in bed, "4 kids 4 dogs and a bearded dragon walk into a hotel.”
In another clip, she showed her bearded dragon, Sebastian, lying on her chest.
Teigen and Legen join the long list of celebrities who had to evacuate their million-dollar homes in posh localities due to the fire emergency.
Reality TV couple Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, ‘Star Wars’ actor Mark Hamill, Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, Paris Hilton, Jamie Lee Curtis are some of the stars who have been displaced from their homes in the Los Angeles fire.
