Teigen addressed the culture of unsolicited criticism that has become prevalent in the age of social media, reminiscing about a time when people would keep their negative thoughts to themselves.

“You’d go through a magazine, you’d be like, ‘Oh, that person looks like s**t. Ugh, I would never have that haircut … those teeth suck,’” she said.

“We all do it, but we used to do it to like, magazines, and then we spit it out and it would go into the universe and it would disappear,” she shared, adding, “Just do that. Like, what the f**k is wrong with you? Now, you take the time to type it out … like, what?”

Chrissy Teigen calls out comments targeting her looks

Teigen, who is married to singer John Legend and is a mother of four, specifically called out comments she has received about her appearance.

“‘Her cheeks look too filled,’” she mockingly quoted her critics.

“‘Why would she fill her cheeks like that? Why would she do her lips like that? Ugh, I would never. I would never. I would never, that’s so gross,’” she said.

She then urged people to keep their harsh judgments to themselves.

“Just say those things inside, in your head. Say them inside your big brain,” Teigen continued, adding, “Your big brain is so ready for all your thoughts, but you don’t let them keep anything in because you’re spewing them out.”

The 39-year-old TV personality made it clear that she never intended to be a subject of public scrutiny.

“Why would I fill my cheeks to the point where people talked about my cheeks? I don’t ever want to be the example of anything. Like, I want to float through the middle, you guys,” she shared.

Later, Teigen admitted that her social media tirade was partially influenced by a sleep aid.

“TBH I had a sleep gummy and just felt compelled to say this because no matter what I post some dork has to talk about the wallpaper on my wall, my face, my kid’s shirt, the inorganic yogurt,” she captioned her Instagram post.

“But I love you even though you are a bit off,” she shared.

Teigen has frequently defended herself against online criticism.

In February, she was mom-shamed after taking a “coconut milk bath” with three of her kids.

In June, she hit back at those who criticized her for bathing in what they called “dirty” bath water, according to Page Six.
