Christina Applegate says parenting teen daughter while dealing with multiple sclerosis 'breaks' her heart
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Christina Applegate candidly spoke about the challenges of parenting while living with multiple sclerosis, a chronic disease that affects the central nervous system.
Explaining the impact the disease has had on her relationship with her 13-year-old daughter Sadie, "She's had to see the loss of her mom, in the way that I was a mom with her."

The 'Dead to Me' actress who is launching a new podcast, 'MeSsy', on March 19 with friend Jamie-Lynn Sigler said that she misses dancing with her daughter every day.

"Picking her up from school every day. Working at her school, working in the library... Being present out of the house, out of my bed," Applegate said of the things she missed doing with Sadie whom she shares with her husband Martyn LeNoble.
"She doesn't see those things anymore. This is a loss for her as well. And we're both learning as we're going along," she added.
Applegate who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2021 further reflected on the moments lost due to the debilitating effects of the illness.
“She'll come in the room, and if she sees that I'm laying on my side, she knows that she can't ask me to do anything,” she said.
“And that breaks me, breaks me. Because I love doing stuff for my kid. I love making her food. I love bringing it to her. I love all of it, and I just can't sometimes. But I try. I try," Applegate added, according to People.
Jamie-Lynn Sigler opens up on multiple sclerosis diagnosis
Sigler who will co-host the new podcast with Applegate also opened up about her diagnosis with multiple sclerosis and the similar struggles as a parent.
The actress who shares two children, Beau, 10, and Jack, six, whom she shares with her husband, Cutter Dykstra said, "My kids have known me only with [multiple sclerosis]."
"But there's been a lot of moments as a mom that I've had to hand over to someone else, and that's been really hard,” she continued.
“It was hard for me to feel like I'm not their everything."

"Every other mom is up waiting for their kids with open arms when they run out the door. And my kids will come and walk to me," she said of not being able to pick up her children from school.
"And while that's fine... I want to be that mom, and I want to do those things and it's difficult," 'The Sopranos' actress added.
