WARREN, NEW JERSEY: Chubb Corporation’s CEO, Evan Greenberg, once criticized North Carolina law requiring people to use bathrooms based on their biological orientation, as per The Daily Wire.

He called the bill a "threat to democracy." Watchdog group Consumers’ Research discovered the video. Well, social media users are not at all happy with the video.

Evan Greenberg calls bathroom bill 'threat to democracy'

Evan Greenberg’s comments were featured in a 'woke alert' released Thursday, September 2, by the watchdog group.

The CEO of the 'wokest insurance company' was unsettling. “The rights of individuals, including our personal freedom and right to pursue happiness, are a universal right. We protect them. Actions like those in North Carolina and other states to discriminate against sexual preference and strip citizens of their protections do not reflect who we are as a nation, and are ultimately, I believe, a threat to democracy,” Greenberg said.

The law was meant to stop transgender men from using women’s bathrooms and also prevented local governments from making rules that would allow them to do so.

“After all, where does it stop? This is something we’re speaking about, and that’s why I’m speaking out about it,” he said during his April 12, 2016, speech at the Chubb Leadership Forum in San Diego.

As per the publication, Chubb Insurance is the largest commercial lines insurer operating across 54 countries.

Internet slams Evan Greenberg

As soon as the comments surfaced, people reacted strongly online. Many users criticized the CEO and expressed anger over his stance on the bathroom bill.

One user shares, "Conservatives, remember the names of those who are working behind the scenes to stop the America First agenda… Chubb Insurance CEO Evan Greenberg thinks it’s a “threat to democracy” to stop men from using women’s restrooms. He is working to stop @realDonaldTrump from #MAGA."

Another user said, "Chubb Insurance opposed laws to keep men out of women’s bathrooms. The company funds the Trevor Project’s trans agenda instead of focusing on customers."

"Hey @Chubb Board: You're CEO should be politically vocal. Tell him to stop or resign," another user commented.

"Seeing his last name it shouldn’t surprise anyone," someone else shared.

Another user wrote, "Can you imagine working for a company like Chubb? My guess is men can use female restrooms at his company. And the sad part he is not alone. How many large corporations do the same thing?"

Another shared, "The Chubb Insurance CEO must be a very sick and mentally ill person and certainly should not be running an insurance company."

Chubb Corporation’s 'woke' agenda under fire

Consumers’ Research executive director Will Hild told The Daily Wire that Chubb is “the wokest insurance company” for prioritizing ideological causes over insurance services. “Chubb should be focused on delivering the best insurance policies for its customers, not carrying water for repulsive ideological causes.”

The national campaign highlights Chubb’s progressive policies. It includes TV ads and mobile billboards near Chubb offices in Washington, DC, and New York City.

The campaign also sent a letter urging the Treasury Department to investigate the company’s DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) practices.

Chubb Corporation’s website about diversity and anti-racism initiatives

Chubb’s website shows that the company focuses on diversity, fairness, and fighting racism.

Employees can use tools like the 'Race Fluency Toolkit' and the 'Race Matters' platform to better understand racism and the experiences of Black people.

The company says, “We believe in being anti-racist because a rejection of racism alone is insufficient,” and emphasizes hiring people from “underrepresented groups.”
