LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Chuck Norris, the martial artist-turned-Hollywood star, summited the 10,457-foot Lassen Peak in California just months before his death at 86.
He shared photos of the journey on Instagram to document the milestone and show his fans the view from the top of the volcanic peak.
Chuck Norris reflected on his hike up Lassen Peak
In his Instagram post from September, Chuck Norris acknowledged the landscape and the personal memories associated with the trails.
Regarding the experience, he wrote, “What a day! I had the pleasure of hiking Lassen Peak once again. While it was heartbreaking to see the damage left behind by the 2021 Dixie Fire, the park's beauty still shines through."
He continued to reflect on the significance of the area, noting, "Walking those trails brought back so many wonderful memories. My wife grew up around these parts, and I'll always be grateful she introduced me to such magnificent sights.”
Chuck Norris' final post before his death: 'I don’t age, I level up'
Just days before, Norris shared his final video on Instagram to celebrate his 86th birthday.
In the clip, the actor was seen outside practicing his martial arts moves and boxing with a trainer. He joked that he does not get old and instead told the camera, “I don’t age, I level up.”
The martial arts legend also took a moment to thank his fans for their kind birthday wishes.
He wrote, “I’m 86 today! Nothing like some playful action on a sunny day to make you feel young. I’m grateful for another year, good health and the chance to keep doing what I love. Thank you all for being the best fans in the world. Your support through the years has meant more to me than you’ll ever know."
Family confirms Chuck Norris' death in Hawaii
The actor died on March 19 in Hawaii while surrounded by his loved ones.
In a statement shared via Norris' Instagram, his family described his death as peaceful, while requesting privacy during a deeply personal moment of grief.
Beyond the announcement, the statement focused on the kind of person Norris was away from cameras and headlines.
“To the world, he was a martial artist, actor, and a symbol of strength. To us, he was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather and the heart of our family,” the statement read.
The family also thanked fans for their support expressed during Norris' recent hospitalization: “We know many of you had heard about his recent hospitalization, and we are truly grateful for the prayers and support you sent his way.”
