KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI: Travis Kelce stirred up some drama recently when an old deleted tweet of his resurfaced and spread like wildfire following Easter Sunday celebrations. Social media users couldn't resist commenting on it, as they bombarded Kelce with heavy criticism.

However, Kelce isn't alone in facing the heat due to old social media posts. His teammate from the Kansas City Chiefs, quarterback Patrick Mahomes, also faced scrutiny for scrubbing two old tweets referencing rapper Sean Love Combs, aka Diddy, who was recently involved in a sex trafficking lawsuit.

On the other hand, the star tight end managed to charm his girlfriend Taylor Swift's fans, aka Swifties, yet again. He won over the Swifties when a video surfaced of him air-guitaring out to her song 'Bad Blood' while playing golf with his friends.

Travis Kelce's old deleted tweet about Jesus Christ resurfaces

As Easter Sunday rolled around, an old tweet from Kelce resurfaced, suggesting the tight end might have been a fan of the holiday. According to reports from the Spun, Kelce had sent out this tweet back in 2010, giving a special nod to Jesus Christ.

When Kelce and the 'Look What You Made Me Do' singer started dating in September 2023, fans naturally went digging through Kelce's old tweets.

In this tweet that Kelce had since deleted, he wrote, "Happy easter to all!!! #shoutout to Jesus for takin one for the team.... haha." However, when this tweet resurfaced, it didn't sit well with many social media users.

As reported by the Spun, Kelce had previously addressed the viral nature of his old tweets, dismissing them as nonsensical.

During his 'New Heights' podcast with his brother Jason, Kelce explained, "What's hilarious is that nobody followed me back then. I was just using Twitter as like a diary. I'm just out here just saying nonsense. 'I just gave a squirrel a piece of bread' and spelled squirrel like a (expletive). ... This is why I don't tweet anymore because it's just nonsense."

Internet calls Travis Kelce 'classless' over old tweet

A user slammed Kelce and wrote, "It's clear they are satanic and are just mocking Christianity now It's all one big club."

Another claimed, "This was both disrespectful and disgusting. Jesus is the King of Kings. A true follower of Christ would never speak in this manner to him. I hope he regrets it and has asked him for forgiveness."

A user commented, "What classless and trashy Travis Kelce is, just like his girlfriend."

Someone else noted, "He’s not consistent with his way. The post is blasphemy to Christ that could be why he took it of, but nothing in the internet can be permanently deleted."

A user stated, "Travis Kelce digging himself a tunnel posting that."
