Clint Eastwood, 94, in frail health as longtime partner Christina Sandera's death leaves family worried
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Clint Eastwood’s close ones are worried that the Oscar-winning actor as he is left alone to face his health issues after the death of his longtime partner Christina Sandera.
The 94-year-old actor recently shared a statement with BBC confirming the death of his 61-year-old partner Sandera. He expressed his heartfelt sorrow as he shared, "Christina was a lovely, caring woman, and I will miss her very much.”
However, some of ‘The Mule’ star’s acquaintances feel Eastwood is in deep shock at the death of his partner of ten years and may be facing some health concerns.
Clint Eastwood’s friends worry about the actor
The former mayor of Carmel-by-the-Sea was last seen publicly at the marriage ceremony of his younger daughter Morgan in June. He was, however, not looking his usual well-groomed self. Eastwood sported a scruffy beard and unkempt white hair, which left many of his family members worried about his well-being. They also worried about his growing reclusiveness and diminishing energy.
He has also reportedly lost significant weight and is sporting a hunchback, suggesting a change in his gait.
Nevertheless, some of the family members offered a different point of view, saying that the ‘Sully’ star doesn’t feel the need to appear well-groomed and maintain his sleek appearance.
However, his energy is not diminished as he is quite active with his grandchildren and occasionally indulges in a play of golf. The friend stated, per Marca, "Clint is living the golden years of his life on his own terms.”
However, everyone doesn’t share the same opinion as another friend worries about his well-being.
Another insider shared Eastwood is no longer like his former self and spends his time cloistered in his Carmel home. The insiders hope that he finds new hobbies to cope with the loss of his partner.
Clint Eastwood and Christina Sandera's decade-long relationship
The Academy Award-winning actor first met Sandera when she was working as a restaurant hostess at Eastwood's hotel, the Mission Ranch, in Carmel, California. Though their relationship started in 2014, the couple made their red carpet debut at the 2015 Oscars where Eastwood’s ‘American Sniper’ was a major nominee.
Though they kept their relationship low-profile, they walked the red carpet together on many occasions, including the premieres for ‘Sully’ in 2016, ‘The Mule’ in 2018, ‘The 15:17 to Paris’ in 2018 and ‘Richard Jewell’ in 2019.
Following the passing of Sandera, Eastwood’s youngest daughter Morgan shared a heartfelt message for her father's late partner, per the New York Post.
Taking to her Instagram Story, the 27-year-old wrote, “A devastating loss for our whole family.”
Sharing a picture of her with her husband, Eastwood and Sandera, she continued, “Thank you Christina for being a good partner to my Dad. you will be greatly missed.”
