Colin Jost once went dumpster diving across NYC to find wife Scarlett Johansson’s missing engagement ring

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Colin Jost recently shared a very hilarious story about his and Scarlett Johansson’s married life.
During an episode of ‘Pop Culture Jeopardy!’, the host revealed, “My wife actually lost her engagement ring,” reported E! News.

He also revealed that at the time, the actress thought that she “accidentally threw it in the trash,” resulting in Jost looking “through 12 dumpsters of trash" across New York City.
However, all the efforts went in vain when he got home and the ‘Under the Skin’ star told him, “Oops! It was in my pocket. It was a great day for me.”
Colin Jost’s 'SNL' joke on Scarlett Johansson got him in ‘trouble’
The couple has been married since 2020, and they have a son named Cosmo, who was born in 2021.
Johansson is also the mother of a daughter named Rose Dorothy, born in 2014, whom she shares with her second husband, Romain Dauriac. Her first husband was Ryan Reynolds.
In December 2024, the comedian left Johansson in shock as he read filthy jokes about her written by his 'Weekend Update’ co-anchor Michael Che.

He said, “Costco has removed the roast beef sandwich from their menu. But I ain’t tripping. I’ve been eating roast beef every night since my wife had the kid.”
Later in January, Jost appeared on Jimmy Fallon’s ‘The Tonight Show’ where he was asked, “Are you in trouble with Scarlett?” as reported by Variety.
The 42-year-old writer replied, “I’m in trouble, I think, with a lot of people. Scarlett was genuinely so shocked.”
Scarlett Johansson knew about Colin Jost's 'SNL' joke

Colin Jost then disclosed that his wife was informed beforehand about the joke as the ‘SNL’ team told her, “Hey, would you be okay if Michael made a little, like, kind of vagina joke at some point?”
“She was like, ‘Sure, whatever, I’m open to it.’ I didn’t know where it was going,” Jost noted.
However, after the joke was made, the 40-year-old actress “was backstage like, ‘Oh my god, that’s what it is!’” Jost said.

Scarlett Johansson claimed her shock was genuine
The ‘Avengers’ actress also shared her thoughts on the joke her husband made on 'SNL' with Jenna Bush Hager on 'Today'.
“Honestly Jenna, I felt like it was 'To Catch a Predator' when the lights kind of came on me and suddenly there was a whole audience, and I was there with, thankfully, a very stiff cocktail,” Johansson said.
She added, “The jokes got — they were so vulgar. That's genuine shock.”
