TISHOMINGO, OKLAHOMA: Blake Shelton, known for hits like 'God’s Country,' has stunned the country music world with a major career move.

After more than 20 years of chart-topping success, Shelton announced this week that he is parting ways with his longtime record label, Warner Music Nashville.

The country music chart-topper, who first burst onto the scene with his 2001 hit 'Austin,' shared his decision in an official statement on Tuesday, September 3.

"I moved to Nashville when I was 17 to sing country music and get a record deal," Shelton, now 48, reflected. "Along with the support from Warner, my dreams came true, and then some," according to Billboard.

Originally signed to Giant Records before it closed, Shelton’s deal was transferred to Warner Music Nashville, where he spent over two decades shaping his illustrious career.

"It's impossible to name everyone who has had a hand in all the success we enjoyed, but a huge and heartfelt thank you to the Giant Records, Warner Bros Records and Warner Music Nashville staff and family," Shelton added in his heartfelt statement.

 "Together, we've celebrated a number of hit songs, sold-out tours and award wins. Blake’s talent is undeniable, but that wit of his, and the countless moments of laughter he’s given us remind us how fun this business of music can be," the label stated.

"While our time together has come to an end, we count ourselves amongst his biggest fans and are grateful for the ride with this true gentleman and icon," it added.
