Zuma gains applause as he performs onstage at Blake Shelton's bar
In a video shared by a fan on X, Blake Shelton proudly introduced Zuma, who received a warm reception with loud cheers and applause as he approached a stool on stage. Although Zuma performed solo, Shelton thoughtfully adjusted his microphone to ensure the best sound quality for the audience.
Shelton, sitting on the opposite side of the stage, looked on with satisfaction as his stepson sang and played guitar with impressive confidence.
Alongside Zuma and Kingston, Stefani shares a 10-year-old son named Apollo with her ex-husband, whom she divorced in 2015. Shelton has frequently spoken about his close bond with his stepchildren.
In February 2021, Shelton shared, "I have a blast with it, I’m not gonna lie. I don’t take it so serious that I’m not enjoying this time because I really am. I can’t imagine my life without these kids now."
In April, he described how becoming a stepfather changed him "in every possible way." He told, "I learned quickly, not because anything happened, but just, you know, reading the room, you've really got [to think], 'I have to take a step back'. When people say it's not about you anymore when you have a kid...I think if you're doing it right, it's not about you anymore. That's true."
Shelton also mentioned his enjoyment in teaching them various things, whether it's music or working on the ranch, engaging with the animals.
In December 2022, Shelton discussed the possibility of stepping back from his career to focus more on his family. "If I walked away from my career at this time, the only thing that I run the risk of is having regrets that I'm missing out on some more important things in life. For now, that's our kids. This isn't about me anymore and never will be again," he told.
"Even though I'm a stepparent, I take that job very seriously. The kids see me as a very important person in their life," he continued. "[When they ask,] "Why isn't Blake here?" I take that stuff to heart. I've made plenty of money, but you can't buy time back. I don't want any regrets."
