LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Late-night television host Seth Meyers recently took a jab at former President Donald Trump's understanding of magnets in a segment on his show.

Trump, known for his unconventional and often puzzling statements, delivered a rant about aircraft carriers and magnets that left Meyers questioning the coherence of the former president's thoughts.

Trump's unhinged rant dissected by Meyers

Meyers introduced the segment by expressing his amazement at Trump's increasing lack of coherence over the years. He played a clip of Trump discussing aircraft carriers and their elevators on the USS Gerald Ford.

According to Trump, the elevators on this massive aircraft carrier were equipped with magnets instead of hydraulic systems.

"I could tell you about the elevators on a tremendous aircraft carrier, the Gerald Ford, and they decided not to use hydraulic like a John Deere tractor. They decided they'd use magnets. 'We're going to use magnets to lift up the elevators with seven planes on them.' We need them fast, these massive elevators. They used magnets. They wanted to try it for the first time. They had an almost billion-dollar cost overrun on the magnetic elevators. Think of it. Magnets," Trump exclaimed.

The magnet-water confusion

In response to Trump's magnet musings, Meyers humorously addressed the former president's misunderstanding of magnets by bringing up a glass of water.

Mimicking Trump's hypothetical scenario, Meyers pretended to drop a glass of water on magnets, stating, "Now, all I know about magnets is this. Give me a glass of water. Let me drop it on the magnets. That's the end of the magnets."

Of course, Meyers pointed out the fallacy in Trump's water-magnet analogy, asserting, "No. It's not. Water doesn't defeat magnets. You're confusing magnets with fire or cellphones. They're different things."

The late-night host continued to mock Trump's flawed logic, emphasizing that a glass of water wouldn't break magnets.

The comedic critique

Meyers didn't stop at correcting the magnet-water confusion; he further ridiculed Trump's faulty reasoning. "Even his crazy nonsense bull[bleep] is more wrong than it has to be," Meyers quipped.

He went on to describe a hypothetical scenario where a glass is dropped on a magnet, comparing it to a bizarre experiment with Mr Wizard, a fictional character known for his scientific demonstrations.

Meyers playfully exaggerated the situation, creating a comedic dialogue between Mr Wizard and a confused participant, highlighting the absurdity of Trump's statements.

The segment was filled with Meyers' signature humor, turning Trump's seemingly incoherent rant into a source of amusement for his audience.
