LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Eighties music sensation Cyndi Lauper went viral on social media for her recent performance at the age of 71, the Daily Mail reported on Tuesday, January 14.
While the orginal post was made to mock the 1980s pop-rock singer for performing at an advanced age, her fans stepped in to fiercely defend her against trolls on X (formerly Twitter).

The clip shows the artist with teal hair performing wearing a metallic silver outfit. It was reportedly her first major tour in a decade, and she is seen singing and dancing to her 1985 hit, 'The Goonies 'R' Good Enough'.

According to the Daily Mail, Lauper set off on her 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour' starting in Montreal, Canada, on October 18, 2024. It is scheduled to end on February 28, 2025, in Paris, France.
The singer embarked on this tour as a result of her desire to thank her fans properly for their support through the decades while she was still in good shape.
In the course of her career which spans four decades, Lauper has released eleven studio albums and sold over 50 million records worldwide. She is also the first woman to independently win the Tony Award for Best Original Score, for the Broadway musical 'Kinky Boots' in 2013.
Known for her chart topping hits such as 'Time After Time,' 'She Bop,' and 'True Colors,' Lauper attracts 25.7M monthly listeners on Spotify.
