SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO: Puerto Rican rapper Daddy Yankee has filed a legal injunction against his estranged wife, Mireddys Gonzalez, alleging she withdrew $80 million without his consent from the bank account of his record label, El Cartel Records.

The injunction, filed on Friday, December 13, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, also names Mireddys' sister, Ayeicha Gonzalez Castellanos, and El Cartel Records, where Mireddys is reportedly the CEO and Ayeicha serves as secretary/treasurer, as reported by Billboard

According to the filing, Daddy Yankee, 47, is the rightful owner of the company’s shares and the driving force behind its success. However, the 'Gasolina' artist claims he has been denied access to critical information about the company’s finances and operations.

Daddy Yankee is seeking the immediate removal of Mireddys and Ayeicha from their roles and full disclosure of withheld documentation.

The rapper further accuses the two sisters of overstepping their authority, neglecting corporate formalities, and failing to account for their actions.

A key issue cited in the filing is the alleged undervalued sale of a portion of 'Yo Voy' hitmaker's music catalog, brokered by a third party hired by Mireddys. The transaction, he claims, was made without his detailed knowledge and fell far below the catalog’s real value.

According to the filing, the alleged huge theft of company funds occurred on December 12 after Daddy Yankee had already revoked Mireddys and Ayeicha's authority and had "warned that they could not carry out any transactions on behalf of El Cartel."

On December 2, the 'Despacito' singer confirmed the split on Instagram, stating that he and Mireddys had tried to save their marriage for months before ultimately deciding to part ways, as per People

"With a heart full of respect and honesty, I want to share some important news about my personal life," he wrote. "After more than two decades of marriage... my lawyers responded to the divorce petition received from Mireddys. I respect Mireddys' decision and appreciate the time we spent together."

Daddy Yankee and Mireddys share two children, Jesaeelys Ayala Gonzalez, 28, and Jeremy Ayala Gonzalez, 26. Daddy Yankee also has another daughter, Yamilet Ayala Gonzalez, from a previous relationship.

In a 2022 interview with People en Español, the singer called his family "the most beautiful thing" in his life. "My wife and my children are my treasure, the reason why I work day after day to try to give them a better life, to make a legacy for them," he shared.
