On Sunday, June 2, Fanning talked about the late ‘Uptown Girls’ actress, who still has an impact, more so because of the viral TikTok video from the movie.
“I have, I love it. I love it, I think because it's nostalgic for people who are around my age who grew up watching that movie," she said, referring to its relevance even now.
Fanning explained, "I think it’s like a comfort movie for people, so I love that people are still revisiting it and loving it and now that everyone is older, understanding different things about it, so I love that.”
The 30-year-old said, “And I loved Brittany so much and I still miss her so any time that she has sort of a moment where people think about her is also nice.”

In the 2003 flick, Fanning featured as a strong eight-year-old named Ray, and Murphy starred as her nanny Molly.

Murphy tragically died in 2009, at age 32, after collapsing in the bathroom of her Hollywood Hills home, while battling flu-like symptoms in her last few days.
As per THR's report, she said, "Mommy, I can’t catch my breath. Help me," before losing consciousness in the arms of her mother, Sharon, and husband Simon Monjack. Her partner Monjack also died five months later at 40.
Murphy is well remembered for her performances in other hits, including '8 Mile', 'Girl', 'Interrupted', 'Just Married', and 'Clueless'.
