Daniel Radcliffe sparks marriage rumour as he calls longtime GF Erin Darke's parents ‘in-laws’ at Emmys
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Daniel Radcliffe, 34, has once again sparked marriage rumor after referring to the parents of his decade-long partner Erin Darke as “in-laws.”
The ‘Harry Potter’ star, who was nominated for his first-ever Emmy for his performance in ‘Weird: The Al Yankovic Story,’ walked the red carpet of the 75th Emmy Awards with Darke.
Daniel Radcliffe admits he cared the most about his in-laws’ opinion on ‘Weird’
As the 34-year-old British actor walked the red carpet, he was interviewed about his role in the Al Yankovic biopic by Laverne Cox.
When he was asked about the feedback received for the role that earned him his first Emmy nomination, Radcliffe replied, “Honestly, the people whose opinions I cared most about the movie were my in-laws.”
He continued, “They are huge Weird Al fans and they kind of got me into it. But they were very happy, thank God,” per The Independent.
Not only did he mention the parents of Darke as his “in-laws,” Radcliffe also didn’t rectify Cox when she referred to the ‘Moonshine’ actress as his “wife”.
During the interview, Cox put forward his belief saying that the actor’s “wife is a huge Weird Al Yankovic fan”.
Radcliffe has never confirmed the marriage rumor, nevertheless, he allegedly did not rectify Cox as she called the 39-year-old ‘Miracle Workers’ actress his wife.
Later, a spokesperson for Radcliffe told the news outlet that the rumors of their marriage was “not true,” adding, “They’ve been together for 10 years hence the reference.”
Radcliffe and Darke have been in a relationship ever since they shared screen for the 2012 movie ‘Kill Your Darlings’.
Daniel Radcliffe has referred to Erin Darke’s parents as 'in-laws' before
This is, however, not the first time, when Radcliffe has referred to his partner's parents as his “in-laws.”
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly in 2022, when ‘The Lost City’ star was asked about Darke’s opinion on his satirical portrayal of Yankovic, Radcliffe replied, “Actually, after [director] Eric [Appel] and Al [Yankovic], the people I'm most concerned about their reaction is probably my in-laws, Erin's dad and brother, because they're massive fans as well.”
He continued, “Erin's seen the movie but I'll be interested in what Ian thinks. I really hope he likes it.”
Later, in June 2023, he confirmed that his father-in-law likeed the movie, saying, “He really, really liked it, thank God,” per Los Angeles Times.
The actor, who welcomed his son with Darke in April 2023, added, “I’m safe to be part of the family.”
