LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The 2024 Emmy Awards featured an unexpected reunion of some major cast members from 'Grey's Anatomy'.
Ellen Pompeo, Katherine Heigl, Justin Chambers, James Pickens Jr, and Chandra Wilson, notable figures from the popular medical drama, made a surprise appearance onstage to present the Best Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie award.

The award eventually went to Paul Walter Hauser for his role in 'Black Bird'.

The show, which has garnered significant acclaim over the years, was nominated for 39 Emmys over the years, securing five wins.
During Monday night's Emmy Awards presentation, the cast of 'Grey's Anatomy' took a moment to pay tribute to the fans who supported them every step of the way.
Ellen Pompeo, reflecting on the impact of the show, shared, "When the first episode of 'Grey's Anatomy' aired in March of 2005, I'm not sure Shonda Rhimes knew she would create a show that would have a lasting imprint on television and create lifelong friendships."
As per ABC News, Chandra Wilson acknowledged the loyalty of the show's fans, saying, "You stayed with us through plane crashes, earthquakes, and a global pandemic."
She went on to announce that as a result, the show had officially become the longest primetime medical drama in TV history.

'Grey's Anatomy' fans celebrated the moment taking to Twitter, writing, "Ugh I cant wait for the new season the new cast of interns."
Another comment read, "OMGGGGGG THE REUNION WE ALL NEEDED."
"We cant wait to see them back on the show PLZZZ," someone else wrote.

'Grey's Anatomy' originally premiered in March 2005, and as of now, it has run for 19 seasons. The show is set to continue with its 20th season, scheduled to air in the spring.
The latest season saw the addition of new residents to the series, including Alexis Floyd, Harry Shum Jr, Adelaide Kane, Midori Francis, and Niko Terho, bringing fresh faces to the long-running medical drama.
