LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Home Alone' co-stars Daniel Stern and Joe Pesci continue to be friends, People reported on Saturday, December 28.

The two actors played the role of criminals Marv (Stern) and Harry (Pesci) in the 1990 movie 'Home Alone' as well as its 1992 sequel, 'Home Alone 2: Lost in New York'.

The pair, whom Marv insisted in the first movie to be referred to as the "Wet Bandits" on account of him leaving the taps running in the houses they burgled, were immortalized in their roles in the movie series, which went on to become one of the most popular Christmas classics.



 

Daniel Stern and Joe Pesci regularly stay in touch

Speaking with the publication during a recent interview, Daniel Stern, 67, claimed that he and 81-year-old Joe Pesci continue to find time for each other to catch up, even though it has been over two decades since they starred opposite each other.

"I see him once a year," stated Stern. "I love seeing Joe. (He's a) dear friend."

The actor recalled meeting Pesci for the first time long before 'Home Alone' while shooting for a drama in 1982.

"We did a really bad movie together called 'I'm Dancing as Fast as I Can,' where we played mental institution (patients)," he shared.

Pesci had gone on to find greater stardom working with directors like Martin Scorsese in gangster flicks such as 'Goodfellas'.

Stern did note that he and Pesci had "got cut out of the movie," which he considered to be a "blessing."

Stating that he had supported his friend ever since they first worked together, Daniel Stern told People, "One thing I love to tell people about Mr Pesci is if you really want to know who he is, listen to his music. He is the most brilliant jazz singer."

"He's got this beautiful tenor voice. I mean, he makes me weep when he sings these kinds of Sinatra songs," he revealed.

According to the publication, Stern enjoys a reclusive lifestyle on a ranch in California which he purchased by saving money from his time working in Hollywood.

He engages himself in growing tomatoes and creating a passion project art that he describes as an "extension of the human condition."

Comparing his lifestyle to that of his friend, Stern said, "I mean, he's (Pesci) a reclusive soul himself. He lives back in Jersey half the time."
