The documents also revealed a breakdown of Trejo's monthly expenses, including travel-related costs, payments to family members, food delivery apps, restaurant visits, and other bills. While Trejo's income for October decreased compared to September, it remained in the five-figure range.
According to Trejo's monthly operating report for September, he earned $91,209.20 but paid out $78,079 in bills. There was $13k left over. Trejo recorded $56k in cash receipts and $46k in cash disbursements in August.
In February, Trejo filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, listing $2.2 million in assets and $3.6 million in liabilities. The majority of his debt was attributed to back taxes owed to the IRS. As part of his repayment plan, Trejo proposed paying $800,000 per year until early 2028.
Danny Trejo adapts to actors' strike impact, lists second home to address financial challenges
Amidst the actors' strike, Danny Trejo took strategic steps to navigate financial challenges, according to bankruptcy documents. Trejo filed for Chapter 11 before the strike, but the industry slowdown prompted him to list his second home to raise funds required for payment plans outlined in the bankruptcy case.
Trejo's lawyer explained, "The strikes have impacted Mr Trejo’s income in the near term. To compensate for the income that would otherwise be available to fund the Plan, Mr Trejo has consulted with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services California Properties and agent Clarence Yoshikane (the “Brokers”) regarding listing, marketing, and assisting the Debtor in selling the home that Mr Trejo inherited from his mother and that is located in Arleta, California.”
The actor estimated that the sale of the property could generate $400,000 after settling liens filed against it by the IRS and California Franchise Tax Board. The actor's financial situation was further complicated by the strikes, leading to this strategic move.
According to his upcoming monthly operating report, the in-demand actor will likely have a much higher income for November due to the end of the strike on November 9.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Trejo listed his other assets in his petition as a 1942 Chevrolet Master Deluxe, a 1976 Cadillac Seville 4D, a 1998 Cadillac Eldorado, a 2001 Cadillac Eldorado 2D, a 1961 Ford Truck, a 2006 Range Rover, a 1997 Cadillac Eldorado, a 2005 Ford Truck, a Harley Davidson motorcycle worth and a 2006 Mercedes Benz.
There is no mention of Trejo's uber-successful donut shop or taco business in the bankruptcy filing.
