PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND: Dave Portnoy is turning 48 on Saturday, but the Barstool Sports founder has no interest in celebrating.

Instead of enjoying his birthday, he finds himself frustrated by March Madness, which he says has often ruined the day for him over the years.

Dave Portnoy says 'everybody is born, it is nothing to brag about'

Taking to Instagram on the morning of his birthday, Dave Portnoy shared that the tournament has left him in a bad mood once again, just as it has in previous years.

"Alright, Saturday March 22, my birthday. People who know me know I am not a birthday guy. I'm not a birthday guy, when people wish me happy birthday I don't get it," Portnoy said in an Instagram video which he also posted on X.

He continued, "Everybody is born, it is nothing to brag about. Quite literally every single person on earth is born and has a birthday, nothing special."

Instead of birthday wishes, Portnoy is asking for something different. "So in lieu of birthday wishes, I will take winners," he said.

"For every year I've been alive, right about this time, my birthday hasn't really been the best because I am getting slaughtered in the tournament. And this year is no different," he added.

Dave Portnoy reveals his birthday parlay, hopes for a big win

"I won one a few days ago, since then I haven't won. In lieu of birthday wishes... let's just win," Portnoy added.

McNeese State, ranked 12th, would cause a major upset if they manage to defeat Purdue after previously eliminating Clemson, the fifth seed.

The games line up with McNeese playing first, followed by St John’s, the second seed, facing Arkansas, and then Michigan, the fifth seed, competing against Texas A&M, ranked fourth.

Daily Mail notes his losses may be steeper.

Portnoy made it clear that his birthday means nothing to him compared to winning bets.

"Forget the f****g birthday, I don't care about my birthday. Wish me winners. Let's win because I need them," he said.

NCAA data, as per the report, reveals nearly all perfect brackets have been shattered after a series of surprising results.

Now, as of early Saturday morning, March 22, ESPN’s tracker listed only 121 perfect brackets remaining out of 24 million, down from 1,098 earlier in the day.
