HOUSTON, TEXAS: Beyonce’s high-energy performance during the NFL Christmas Gameday halftime show at NRG Stadium in Houston has stirred up mixed reactions, with one notable critic being Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy.

As the iconic singer performed hits from her latest album titled 'Cowboy Carter' alongside other big-name artists like Post Malone and Shaboozey, Portnoy took to social media to share his negative thoughts about the show.

In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), Dave Portnoy expressed his discontent regarding the singer's former music group, which officially disbanded 18 years ago, “Beyoncé has been LOST since Destinys Child.”

The high-energy performance, part of Netflix's special Christmas Gameday halftime lineup, also included guest appearances from Post Malone, Shaboozey, Reyna Roberts, Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, and Tiera Kennedy, New York Post reported.

Beyonce's daughter Blue Ivy Carter surprised the viewers by joining her mother on the stage for a dance.

The setlist featured the popular song 'Texas Hold 'Em' but that didn't prevent Portnoy from offering his criticism about the performance.

"Shred line is open for that Beyoncé performance," he wrote in a follow-up post, promoting a call-in show he co-hosts with former NFL coach Jon Gruden.

Portnoy’s criticism is not new as he has previously voiced his preference for Rihanna over Beyoncé during the 2023 Super Bowl halftime show, where he wrote, “Rihanna > Beyoncé. Not particularly close.”

As soon as Dave Portnoy's words went viral on X, many users quickly voiced their agreement, echoing his sentiments about Beyonce's performance. Many also weighed in with their own opinions on the halftime show, further fueling the debate.

An X user wrote, "Beyoncé’s show was a train wreck. Rihanna’s halftime show was far superior."

Another added, "She’s never been the same since she had the supporting cast I still can’t believe how she plays the victim card."

One commentator remarked, "Agreed! That was awful. The whole thing was cringe."

"That show was trash.. Netflix… Beyoncé… step it up," said another in Portnoy's support.

One person claimed, "She was lost before then, never cared for the music but was always TOLD I was weird for not liking it!"

Another added, "Agreed. She would have been 1000% better."
