Deborra-Lee Furness ‘feels entitled’ to more money than Hugh Jackman is ready to offer in $250M divorce

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Deborra-Lee Furness and Hugh Jackman’s divorce has reportedly reached a standstill as the former couple battles over how to divide their $250 million fortune. 

What was initially expected to be an amicable separation has taken a tense turn. Furness is now pushing for a bigger financial settlement after having been in 27 years of marriage with Hugh Jackman.

Hugh Jackman, 56, and Deborra-Lee Furness, 69, announced their separation in September 2023 and were expected to finalize their divorce by January 2024. 

However, the process has stalled, and the exes have yet to officially file for divorce due to unresolved issues surrounding their finances and the lack of a prenuptial agreement when they married in 1996.

 "Hugh and Deborra-Lee have not yet filed for divorce because they're struggling to reach an agreement on how to divide their assets," an insider told RadarOnline.

"Deb feels entitled to more money than Hugh is willing to offer," the source added.

With no prenup in place, sources say Furness believes she is owed more, having supported Jackman through decades of success in his acting career.

The ongoing conflict reportedly intensified after Hugh Jackman made his romance with Broadway co-star Sutton Foster public.

The two were first romantically linked in October 2024 and were seen together as a couple in January 2025.

"Deb went into this divorce not knowing there was a third party involved," said a source close to the actress.

"Even though Hugh realizes she may not have been so nice during that first year of negotiations if she'd known Sutton would soon appear on the scene," the insider added.

The revelation is said to have shifted Furness' tone during negotiations, with emotions running high behind the scenes.

Despite personal differences, the former couple is working to co-parent their two adult children—Oscar, 24, and Ava, 19. 

A family meeting is reportedly being planned in New York to outline expectations and logistics moving forward.

 "(They) are cordial to each other, but they are no longer friends. They put their differences aside to co-parent," a source shared with the outlet.

"They all live in New York, and there will be holidays, birthdays, kids activities and, heaven forbid, some tough times. It's going to be much more fun and easier if they’re all getting along," the source continued.

Even though the moments "with the kids are too meaningful to miss", tensions linger, especially as Deborra-Lee Furness continues to process the end of her nearly three-decade-long marriage.

Though both parties reportedly want to avoid a public battle, insiders suggest that the upcoming meeting could be "explosive" as Jackman's romance with Foster has been troubling her, coupled with the deep hurt from the split with the 'Wolverine' star. 

"But saying that, Deborra has been deeply hurt by the break-up of her marriage, and that could make for some explosive conversations with Hugh," the insider concluded.
