HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA: Demi Moore may have walked away from the 2025 Academy Awards without the Best Actress Oscar, but she didn’t let the loss dampen her spirits.

After a whirlwind awards season, including wins at the Golden Globe, Critics' Choice Awards, and SAG Awards, Moore’s heartwarming response to her Oscar defeat showed her grace, gratitude, and unshakeable support for her fellow nominee, Mikey Madison.

Moore was nominated for her powerful performance in 'The Substance', where she portrayed Elizabeth Sparkle, a fading TV fitness icon.

However, the Oscar for Best Actress went to 25-year-old Mikey Madison for her role in 'Anora.'

The win came as a surprise as Moore had been a frontrunner in the category throughout the season, but Madison's performance in 'Anora,' which also earned five Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director, ultimately triumphed.

Though the loss was a tough blow, Moore’s spirit remained high. In an Instagram post shared on Monday, March 3, the 62-year-old actress reflected on the awards season and shared behind-the-scenes footage of her journey to the Oscars.

The video included moments of Moore getting ready with her team and beloved dog, Pilaf, adding a personal touch to the post.

"As this awards season comes to a close, I’m so overwhelmed with gratitude for this journey," Moore wrote in her caption. She expressed deep appreciation for the people who had been a part of her path, specifically thanking the "cast, crew, and fans" of 'The Substance', including director Coralie Fargeat and costar Margaret Qualley.

Moore’s message concluded with a heartfelt tribute to the evening’s winner, Mikey Madison: "A huge congratulations to #MikeyMadison — can’t wait to see what you do next ♥️."

Despite the loss, Moore showed remarkable composure and support for Madison, who bested a strong field of contenders, including Karla Sofía Gascon, Fernanda Torres, and Cynthia Erivo. Madison's win was a significant upset, considering Moore’s success earlier in the season.
