LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Demi Moore is staying grounded as she navigates her ex-husband Bruce Willis' battle with dementia.

The actress opened up about his condition, calling for "real deep acceptance" of the illness and where it has taken him.

Demi Moore says Bruce Willis is 'stable' amid his battle with dementia

Bruce Willis, 69, was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in 2022, following an earlier diagnosis of aphasia.

Despite the challenges, Moore shared that Bruce Willis is currently "stable," as she continues to support their blended family during this difficult time.

In a candid conversation led by HIFF Advisory Board member Alina Cho, Moore opened up about Bruce's health condition.

The couple, who divorced in 2000, has remained close, co-parenting their three daughters, Rumer Willis, 36, Scout Willis, 33, and Tallulah Willis, 30.

Moore shared her perspective on the illness that has affected Bruce, which was first revealed publicly by his wife, Emma Heming Willis, following his aphasia diagnosis in 2022.

“You know, I've said this before. The disease is what the disease is. And I think you have to be in real deep acceptance of what that is,” said Moore during the discussion according to People, “But for where he's at, he is stable.”

Moore went on to advise her daughters on how to navigate their father’s illness, saying, "What I always encourage is to just meet them where they're at."

"When you're holding on to what was, I think it's a losing game. But when you show up to meet them where they're at, there is great beauty and sweetness," Moore added.

Demi Moore continues to spend time with Bruce Willis and his family

Despite their split over two decades ago, Demi Moore continues to spend quality time with Bruce Willis, who remarried Emma Heming Willis in 2009.

The blended family, including Bruce and Emma’s two daughters, Mabel, 12, and Evelyn, 10, has maintained a close bond, often sharing glimpses of their lives.

Moore recently visited Bruce, bringing along her granddaughter, Louetta, who is Rumer Willis’ 17-month-old daughter.

Tallulah Willis on the challenges and love within the Willis family

Bruce Willis’ family went public with his frontotemporal dementia diagnosis in 2022, revealing that he was stepping away from acting to focus on his health.

Since then, the family has been open about his well-being, keeping fans updated on his condition.

Tallulah Willis, Bruce and Demi’s youngest daughter, shared more about her father’s journey during a September 18 appearance on the 'Today' show.

“He’s doing stable, which in this situation is good, and it’s hard,” Tallulah said. “There’s painful days, but there’s so much love. And it’s really shown me to not take any moment for granted,” she added.

Shortly afterward, Tallulah posted heartwarming photos of herself and her father on Instagram on September 30.
