Rumer Willis reveals split from Derek Richard Thomas with post about 'single momming' daughter Louetta

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Actor Bruce Willis' daughter Rumer Willis announced on Thursday, August 22, that she and her boyfriend Derek Richard Thomas have broken up and she is 'single momming' their 16-month-old daughter Louetta, according to E! News.

Willis announced the news through an Instagram story as she answered a fan’s question during an Ask Me Anything Uncensored. The former couple revealed their relationship in November 2022 when she shared the news on Instagram.

During the Instagram Q&A session, a fan asked Willis, "Are you and Derek still a couple?" to which she answered, "Nope I am single momming it and co-parenting."

She added, "I'm so grateful for Lou. She is the best thing in my life and I'm forever grateful I was able to have the time in that relationship for her to come into my life."

In an Instagram post in June 2024, Thomas wrote, "Thank you for changing my life and transforming me into a better person. Being your father is the greatest joy of my life. It's an honor to be your guide as you teach me how to live. Thank you for existing and thank you to your mother for being my loving partner on this journey of parenthood."

Rumer also talked about their relationship and how becoming parents changed their dynamic during a May interview with E! News.

She said, "There's so much that goes on. Your hormones, everything's going crazy—people say that if you can make it through the first year together, that's the biggest milestone. Being in a relationship while having a kid, there's a level of depth and intimacy and trust that you have to go to with someone."

Rumer provided updates to fans on the condition of her dad Bruce as he continues to live with frontotemporal dementia, according to Page Six.

She wrote on her Instagram story during the Q&A session, "He is great. I love him so much. Thank you."

Bruce retired from acting in March 2022 when his family announced he had been diagnosed with aphasia, a rare form of dementia that causes people to have trouble speaking and remembering information.

However, in February 2023, his family revealed he had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, which causes speech and behavioral issues.
