Denzel Washington's daughter Katia and her wife Colleen Wilson's 'crazy' height difference stuns fans

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Denzel Washington fans were left in awe after pictures of his daughter, Katia Washington, and her wife, Colleen Wilson, from the Critics Choice Association's 7th Annual Celebration of Black Cinema and Television surfaced online.  

The couple's glamorous appearance at the event held at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles on December 9 caught everyone's attention, but it was their height difference that had all talking.

Katia Washington, 37, who has built a successful career as a film producer, exuded sophistication in a dark khaki green blazer paired with matching trousers, a crisp white shirt, and a skinny tie.

Her wife, Colleen, a former ballerina with a striking height of 6ft 4in, turned heads in a chic black off-the-shoulder midi dress, which she styled with nude heels and a gold box clutch.

The couple’s chemistry was evident as they posed for photographs, with Katia grinning ear-to-ear beside her towering wife, as per Daily Mail. 

Their height difference caught the attention of many when footage from the event was shared on TikTok. 

One expressed humorously, "They say opposites attract but that's taking it up a few levels," and another said, "Is she really short or is her wife just really tall?"

"The height difference is crazy. As a tall girl I love that she is still wearing her heels," expressed a person. 

Joining the discussion, one more shared on Facebook, "Prime example... simone biles and jonathon owens. both are great in their fields and both love each other in a happy relationship. who the hell cares about height difference as long as they're happy!!!!!!"

"They look great! Not sure why anyone’s height is embarrassing," said a person, with another adding, "Who cares? They look happy. Leave them alone."

"People need to get over much dumb things. Height isn't important. If the person has a good heart, that's all that matters."

Denzel Washington's pride lies in the accomplishments of his children

Denzel Washington and his wife of 41 years, Pauletta Pearson, share four children: John David, Katia, and twins Malcolm and Olivia.

The couple, who tied the knot in June 1983, welcomed their first child, John David, in July 1984, followed by Katia in November 1986. The twins, Malcolm and Olivia, were born in April 1991.

Katia and Malcolm have followed in their father’s footsteps by carving out careers in the film industry.

Malcolm recently made his directorial debut with 'The Piano Lesson', which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.

Denzel, who produced the film, proudly supported his son at the event.

"I’m happy that people will get a chance to see what a filmmaker Malcolm is," Denzel told People on the red carpet.

Katia also contributed to the project as a producer, while her older brother, John David, took on the role of Boy Willie in the movie.

During a November interview with Esquire, the 'Man on Fire' actor reflected on his greatest accomplishments and praised his children.

"When I think of what I’m proudest of, anything I’ve accomplished doesn’t even come to mind," he said. "It’s our children: They’re good people. They know right from wrong. What else can you ask for, you know?"
