Jennifer Lopez will attend Toronto Film Festival to support Ben Affleck's new movie amid divorce drama
TORONTO, CANADA: Jennifer Lopez doesn’t mix professional matters with her personal life. Thus she will be heading out to Toronto to attend the premiere of ‘Unstoppable’, produced by Ben Affleck.
The 55-year-old singer might have parted ways with her ex, Affleck, 52, after two years of marriage, but the duo still retains a professional bond.
Since 'Unstoppable' is premiering at the Toronto Film Festival on Friday evening, Lopez will be there to support the project as it "means a lot to her."
Jennifer Lopez will be attending the TIFF
According to a source close to the ‘Jenny From the Block’ singer, the mother-of-two will be present there to support the film.
“Jennifer is excited to head to the Toronto Film Festival to promote this film because Unstoppable means a lot to her, she wants to support it.”
Lopez, who also co-produced the film along with Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s Artists Equity, is also playing a supporting role in the film.
The source told Daily Mail, “It is a true life story that is very inspirational and she is proud to be a part of it. Acting in the movie was a high point for her.”
“The movie has been getting a lot of attention and Jennifer wants it to do the best it can,” explained the source before remarking, “She is very professional and always works hard to give her movies their best opportunities.”
The insider added that when Lopez is at the film festival, she will maintain her usual flare and dress glamorously.
The ‘Atlas’ star will also have many friends to support her during the trip.
The insider dished, “She will have several friends with her and of course her glam squad, but it will be a quick trip,” before adding, “She won't be in Toronto for very long as she has other matters to attend to.”
Matt Damon may join Jennifer Lopez on the red carpet
Co-produced by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s Artists Equity and Jennifer Lopez’s production house that she runs with her producing partner Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, the film narrates the inspiring story of wrestler Anthony Robles.
Robles, who is being essayed by Jharrel Jerome of ‘Moonlight’ fame, was born with one leg. The wrestler won a national championship in 2011 while competing at Arizona State University.
While Lopez plays the supporting role of Robles’ mother, the supporting cast includes the likes of Bobby Cannavale, Don Cheadle and Michael Pena.
The film has been directed by William Goldenberg - Affleck’s editor for his 2023 movie ‘AIR’ and 2012 flick ‘Argo’.
Previously, it had been reported that Affleck will not be present at the Toronto Film Festival to support the movie which will get a limited theatrical release in December 2024, by Amazon MGM Studios.
Nevertheless, Affleck’s pal and co-producer Matt Damon is rumored to attend the film’s premiere with Jennifer Lopez.
After months of speculations surrounding a marital discord, Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck on August 20, after two years of marriage.
