Denzel Washington's heartwarming gesture toward struggling actress

In the viral clip, a woman is seen approaching Denzel Washington as he enters the Ethel Barrymore Theatre in New York, asking if he has any advice for "actors that are fighting out here to get work". She appears to be stunned when Washington invites him inside the building.

The actor urges her to put the phone down. The video then cuts to them standing together while being filmed by someone else. The woman is seen tearful as Washington puts his arm around her, saying, "Why you crying, girl? I'm regular people just like you."

Washington had a similar warm interaction during the UK premiere of his 2024 film 'Gladiator II'. He reportedly told London-based content creator Chewkz that he was a content creator himself, before sharing his suggestion on how to become an actor.

"You can't learn to be an actor online. You've got to get on the stage," he said. "Find a little theatre. Anything. (Even) if you're just a guy holding a spear at the back of the thing. You got to get on stage," he added.

"That's where I started. If you want what I got, do what I did. I'll see you at work," 'The Book of Eli' actor signed off generously.

Washington stars in the Broadway production of 'Othello' along with Jake Gyllenhaal. He is also preparing for his role in Ryan Coogler's 'Black Panther 3' and a couple of other projects.
