Diddy faces intensified FBI scrutiny as agents probe involvement in 1999 shooting with ex Jennifer Lopez
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The FBI is reportedly considering expanding its investigation into hip-hop mogul Sean 'Diddy' combs in connection with claims that he used his then-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez to carry his gun during a 1999 nightclub shooting, as reported by Radar Online.
Recent developments in producer Rodney "Lil Rod" Jones' $30 million sexual assault lawsuit have brought new attention to the 1999 incident.
FBI expands probe into Diddy amid allegations of misconduct
According to sources cited by The New York Post, law enforcement officials are exploring the possibility of reopening the case in light of these revelations.
In an interview, Michael Discioarro, an attorney familiar with the case, said, "They got eyes on him in Miami and the feds are talking to witness after witness. They’re corroborating everything they can. But everything past and present is on the table with Mr Diddy right now."
According to Jones, Diddy openly boasted about committing the shooting and getting away with it.
"Mr Combs shared that he was responsible for the shooting in the nightclub in New York," he said. "Mr Combs' girlfriend at the time, Jennifer Lopez, aka JLo, carried the gun into the club for him and passed him the gun after he got into an altercation with another individual."
The incident in question occurred in 1999 at a Times Square nightclub, resulting in injuries to three bystanders. Diddy, Lopez, and others were arrested but ultimately released without charges, while rapper Jamal "Shyne" Barrow received a prison sentence.
Despite the legal outcome, rumors persist that Diddy may have orchestrated Shyne's conviction to shield himself from accountability. Natania Reuben, one of the shooting victims, has previously alleged that Combs was responsible for her injuries.
As the investigation unfolds, the FBI is expected to delve deeper into these allegations, shedding new light on a longstanding controversy surrounding the music icon.
Retired FBI agent links Diddy's home raids to Tupac Shakur murder suspect
The recent federal raids conducted on the residences of hip-hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs have sparked speculation about a potential connection to the decades-old murder of rapper Tupac Shakur.
A retired FBI agent has suggested that the search warrants executed on Combs' properties may be linked to the arrest of a suspected accomplice in Shakur's killing.
Phil Carson, the former head of the Los Angeles FBI office, hinted at a possible correlation between the raids on Diddy's mansions and the arrest of Duane "Keefe D" Davis, who has been implicated in Shakur's 1996 murder.
According to Carson, information obtained from Davis' arrest might have prompted the federal authorities to investigate Combs' residences in Los Angeles and Florida.
