LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In another bombshell discovery that sent shockwaves around the internet, famous music entrepreneur Sean "Diddy" Combs was reportedly seen physically abusing his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in a 2016 hotel security footage.
Diddy's former assistant Suzi Siegel now claimed she was not surprised to see the recently released video of him abusing his former girlfriend, Casandra "Cassie" Ventura.
Diddy's former assistant admitted not being 'surprised' by rapper's assault video
Suzi Siegel stated that despite never witnessing the rapper's abusive behavior towards Ventura in public during her time working for him, she expressed no surprise regarding Ventura's November lawsuit against Diddy.
Additionally, Siegel mentioned that the recently discovered 2016 video showing Diddy's abuse towards Ventura in a hotel did not come as a shock to her.
"There was not one cell in my body that was surprised," Siegel, Diddy's secretary from 2008 to 2009, told CNN on Friday, May 17, before adding that she was "sick and violently angry" about the current events.
While Siegel claimed she "never saw him speak harshly to her or be abusive toward her or anything like that," she mentioned that she wasn't shocked by Ventura's complaint from November against Diddy, which referenced the dispute.
Despite stating that she "observed nothing that would lead me to believe" Diddy had been abusive, Siegel did acknowledge that she believed he was "capable" of such behavior during her brief tenure as his assistant.
While Siegel was unsurprised, a source previously informed the Daily Mail that Ventura was "triggered" upon viewing the footage again, and the troubled rapper is "stunned" that it has surfaced.
Suzi Siegel's close involvement with the ex-couple during her tenure as Diddy's assistant
Siegel, who asserted that she worked for Diddy at the beginning of his relationship with Ventura (which began in 2007), stated that she spent "a lot" of time with the former couple.
However, she asserted that she did not experience any abuse from him while working for him, nor did she witness him abusing his former partner. "I didn't see that proof," she remarked.
"I rode in limos with them, I went to parties with them. I guess what I would say is, even though I never saw anything that could corroborate what's in that lawsuit and what we just saw, there was not one cell in my body that was surprised," Siegel said.
"I would say that I was around him a lot and I got a feeling for who he was," she remarked, adding that she "didn't see anything that could get him in trouble." She said, "I didn't see that proof. Obviously, I saw it with the rest of America today."
According to Siegel, Diddy exploited a power imbalance that existed in his relationship with Ventura. "But I think that [there's a] power dynamic in a situation like that — especially her, at the beginning of her career, so young and beautiful and talented," she added.
The video corroborates claims that Ventura had previously made in a contentious lawsuit she filed in November 2023, which the ex-couples eventually settled.
The startling and upsetting video surfaced amid a sex trafficking investigation and other lawsuits alleging misbehavior against Diddy. However, the Los Angeles District cannot charge Diddy over it due to the statute of limitations.
