LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A groundbreaking all-female spaceflight led by Lauren Sanchez rocketed into headlines on April 14 – but not everyone is cheering.

The Blue Origin mission, featuring high-profile names like Katy Perry, journalist Gayle King, former NASA scientist Aisha Bowe, and others, aimed to celebrate female empowerment in space.

However, model and actress Emily Ratajkowski took to TikTok to criticize the 11-minute voyage, slamming Jeff Bezos, and calling the mission 'disgusting', taking particular issue with its emphasis on flattering space suit designs.

Emily Ratajkowski isn’t holding back. In a scathing TikTok shared with her 47 million followers, the model and actress tore into the recent all-female Blue Origin space mission, calling it “beyond parody.”

“That space mission this morning? That’s end-time sh*t,” she said bluntly. “That you care about Mother Earth and it’s about Mother Earth, and you’re going up in a spaceship that is built and paid for by a company that’s single-handedly destroying the planet?”

Ratajkowski questioned the purpose and message behind the mission, adding, “Look at the state of the world and think about how many resources went into putting these women into space. For what? For what? What was the marketing there? And to try and make it like…I’m disgusted. Literally, I’m disgusted.”

Just hours later, she posted a follow-up video further elaborating on her stance. “The truth is, having a man who has gained his power and become part of the 1% purely through exploitation and greed, deciding to take his fiancée and a few other famous woman to space for space tourism is not progress…” she said, referring to Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.

“Most people on planet Earth are worried about paying rent or having dinner for their kids…,” she continued.

“Privilege is not an accomplishment. And exploitation is certainly not an accomplishment. And then being able to take the privilege you’ve gained from exploitation and greed of the planet, of resources, of human beings and then doing something like going to space for 11 minutes certainly isn’t an accomplishment. This is giving ‘Hunger Games,’ right? We need to discern what real progress looks like.”
