LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Disney’s live-action remake of 'Snow White' is facing a severe backlash as both of its trailers have now surpassed one million dislikes on YouTube, marking an incredibly negative response from audiences.

Despite the excitement surrounding a classic reimagining, the film has quickly become a target for criticism, particularly surrounding its star, Rachel Zegler, and controversial decisions made by the filmmakers, reported by Breitbart.

Disney’s ‘Snow White’ trailers bomb on YouTube, garnering over a million dislikes each

The first trailer, released in mid-2024, didn’t fare well, earning over 1.4 million dislikes. The latest teaser trailer, which was dropped around Christmas, has suffered a similar fate, with over 1 million dislikes and only 41,000 likes. A special preview featuring one of Zegler’s songs has also seen overwhelmingly negative reactions, with a lopsided ratio of dislikes to likes.

The troubles with 'Snow White' began long before the trailers dropped. The film stirred up controversy early in 2023 when images were leaked showing a multiracial cast of dwarfs, only one of whom actually had dwarfism. The backlash, particularly from advocates for dwarf actors, led to Disney abandoning the concept. Peter Dinklage, a prominent actor with dwarfism, called the decision “backwards” and publicly criticized the studio.

However, the real firestorm began with Zegler herself. The actress has faced severe criticism for her polarizing statements on social media, from calling the original 'Snow White' film misogynistic to making inflammatory remarks about Donald Trump voters and political ideologies.

She also sparked further outrage by expressing support for controversial political causes, such as her “Free Palestine” declaration while promoting the film. With a budget reportedly ballooning to over $300 million, the movie’s future at the box office is uncertain as negative public sentiment continues to grow.

Disney's live-action remake of Snow White is set to release in theaters this March.

'Snow White' remake is getting absolutely roasted online, especially with its trailers hitting one million dislikes on YouTube.

One user hilariously wrote, "Dropped the biggest s**t and didn't even give us toilet paper," while another said, "This trailer makes me want to sit on the TV and look at my couch."

One user noted, "You know that a movie is screwed when the comments are more entertaining."

Someone else commented, "This movie should come with a disclaimer, 'No dwarfs harmed, but your childhood might be',” definitely hit home for many, while another commented, "Rachel Zelger, Snow White is not gonna be saved by the Prince. My explanation: Because nothing can save this film."

One user summed it up with, "I can tell you for a fact. I’ve never seen a trailer get brutalized like this EVER!" and another chimed in, "Now it ends acting careers" BRUVVV."
