Gal Gadot trolled for portraying Evil Queen as Disney releases 'Snow White' trailer: 'She cannot act'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Gal Gadot is portraying the Evil Queen in Marc Webb's adaptation of Disney's classic 'Snow White'. The trailer for the upcoming movie has finally been released.
After playing Wonder Woman for so many years, Gadot is all set to play a negative character from Disney's classic princess tale. However, the users on the internet were not happy about the casting and brutally trolled the actress online. Disney's 'Snow White' will be released in March 2025.
Gal Gadot to portray Evil Queen in Disney's 'Snow White'
The film, which stars Rachel Zegler as a Latina Snow White, also features Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen, and the seven dwarfs, whose inclusion had drawn criticism from 'Game of Thrones' star Peter Dinklage, according to Independent.
He called the dwarf element of the story "f*****g backwards." H said, "I was a little taken aback when they were very proud to cast a Latina actress as Snow White. You’re still telling the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Take a step back and look at what you’re doing there."
He also said, "It makes no sense to me. You’re progressive in one way and you’re still making that f*****g backwards story about seven dwarfs living in a cave together. What the f*** are you doing man?"
The new movie by Webb follows Snow White after the Evil Queen, played by Gadot, orders her murder. Fleeing from the peril, Snow White makes her way into a forest and discovers the seven dwarfs in a cottage, per the outlet.
Rachel Zegler reacts to trolls
During a conversation with Halle Bailey for Variety’s 'Actors on Actors' series in December 2023, Zegler responded to the online trolls, saying she feels "so thankful for those moments because they make me feel like solid Teflon."
She said, "That nothing can hurt anymore because they’ve said the worst that can be said. You just say, ‘Thank you so much for this. I have a lot of love in my life, and I’m very thankful.’ We get to do our work and have that speak for itself instead."
The actress added, "As much as you’d like to remind people verbally that being in the spotlight doesn’t absolve you of your humanity – that you’re allowed to have human moments – it doesn’t necessarily do what you want it to do. It fuels them more. So it’s choosing to be present and know that they’re probably just having a really hard day. And I’m putting out a movie."

One individual commented, "It would be more believable if the roles were reversed," while another added, "I sometimes forget that she's an actor not a model and wonder why the acting's really bad."

"Gal Gadot being jealous of Rachel Zegler's looks and complexion is like living in a mansion and envying the homeless. This casting is horrendous," one individual wrote in the comments section of the trailer on YouTube.
