LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The late OJ Simpson was found guilty in 2007 after he robbed a memorabilia dealer at gunpoint.

Simpson died on April 10 after a battle with prostate cancer at the age of 76.

Despite being sentenced to 33 years in prison for the robbery, Simpson was granted parole after only nine years as per DailyMail.

This came decades after he faced accusations of murdering his estranged wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman, in 1991.

What did OJ Simpson do at the Palace Station hotel in Las Vegas?

On September 13, 2007, OJ Simpson along with a group went to room 1203 at the Palace Station Hotel in Las Vegas. They stole sports memorabilia from Bruce Fromong and other dealers.

Simpson said he was taking back things that were stolen from him. Some of the items were sold to pay money to the family of Ronald Goldman, who Simpson was accused of killing, though he was found not guilty in court.

Tom Riccio, who was with Simpson, said the ex NFL star told him, "Look Tom, this is not memorabilia. These are personal artifacts that were stolen from me. My football that I was holding in my arm when I rushed for 2,000 yards, the ring from my wife who died that I was going to give to my daughter"

In 1995, Simpson was in a famous trial called the 'Trial of the Century.' He was accused of killing his ex-wife, Nicole Brown, and her friend, Goldman. Even though he was found not guilty, he had to pay money to the families of the victims. Some of the money came from things taken from his home.

When the robbery happened, Simpson wanted to get back some of his things, like his Heisman Trophy, his wife's wedding ring, and a football from one of his games.

Riccio told Alfred Beardsley about someone who had Simpson's things from when he played for the Buffalo Bills. Beardsley got Fromong involved and they moved the items to the hotel room as Riccio asked.

The day prior to the robbery, Simpson, oblivious to his impending arrest and imprisonment, acted as the best man at his friend Thomas Scotto's wedding at the Little White Chapel.

Following a rehearsal dinner for the wedding, Simpson and five accomplices entered the room around 7:38 pm. Inside, he confronted Beardsley and Fromong, declaring that no one could leave.

Simpson arrived at the meeting accompanied by other individuals, all armed with guns. Recordings of the robbery captured Simpson shouting, "You think you can steal my s**t?"

After his arrest in 2007, Simpson admitted to taking items that were originally his but denied breaking into Fromong's hotel room.

While he did this, his accomplices grabbed his memorabilia, including autographed Pete Rose baseballs and Joe Montana lithographs.

Some of Simpson's partners in the robbery received probation, while others were sentenced to jail time. Simpson himself was found guilty of the robbery and given the longest sentence - 33 years in prison.

Ten years later, Fromong, the memorabilia dealer, forgave Simpson for what happened, expressing regret that they didn't resolve their issues peacefully.

Before Simpson was released on parole, Fromong testified that Simpson never pointed a gun at him during the confrontation.

Fromong suffered heart attacks after the robbery, which led to brain damage and financial struggles. Despite this, he forgave Simpson, calling him a good man and a close friend.

During the parole hearing, Simpson maintained that he was only trying to retrieve items that belonged to him and never intended to harm anyone. He claimed he never pointed a gun or made threats during the crime. Simpson emphasized that he served his time respectfully.

Photographs taken after the robbery showed Simpson celebrating at nightclubs with his ex-girlfriend and her friend. These images depicted Simpson drinking champagne in a limo and holding the bride's bouquet.
