The heartbreaking news was made public by their sister Stella Partonin in a post on the social media platform X in the early hours of the morning.
"My brother David passed away peacefully this morning. It’s never easy to say goodbye to a loved one but he got his angel wings and is now at peace," read her statement.

David Wilburn Parton was one of the 12 children born to Robert and Avie Lee Parton in Tennessee. He led a private life, away from the limelight enjoyed by many members of his family.
According to his obituary, "David retired from Simpson Construction as a bridge builder superintendent; and worked on many of the bridges in the Kingsport, Johnson City, and Knoxville areas."
